Простым слогом, автор рассказывает нам о том, что поменялось буквально недавно (около 30 лет назад) в построение выводов на основе данных и как научное сообщество сопротивлялось этим изменениям. Самое увлекательное, что основным инструментом изменений послужили простенькие диаграммы с стрелочками и точками. Но за таким казалось бы небольшим изменением лежит огромное поле возможностей: изменение в интерпретации данных, построение альтернативных миров, а так же объяснение существование парадоксов (например, Монти Холла).
