Now that he and Brighton are both at NSU and on the same swim team, things pick up as if they were never apart. Except now both Brighton and Jance realizes their feelings for each other are not just of the friendly variety.
Honestly, I didn’t really vibe with the author’s writing style, and felt like Jance and Brighton’s inner turmoil about their feelings for each other was a bit too drawn out. Otherwise their story was fine and I enjoyed it for the most part. ...more

Too Fast picks up a few days after Too Safe ended, and is a wake up call for all the guys but especially Kendrick and Decker.
The boys become even more OTT possessive and protective of Joey, ensuring her safety at all times, and doing everything they can to help her process her trauma (even if Decker's methods are a little harsh).
Once Joey feels safe again, she finally decides to open up about her secret past, and my god it was devastating. She is seriously so strong and resilient after everything she's been through, I'm so blown away by how amazing her character is.
After everything that went down Shore Week, the dynamic has also shifted in the group, and I am loving it. Kylian is an absolute Daddy... Sprinkles, anyone? But I really loved the change in Kendrick and Decker! Kendrick really is such a softie under all the snark, and I loved seeing the softer side of him. Plus seeing Decker not being so anal was great, but he still has a long way to go!
That being said, THIS FREAKING ENDING!!! Things were finally going so well and I was so happy for Joey and the boys, and now it's all gone to shit again ...more

Goalie Sawyer Price needs help bringing up his grades asap or else he can kiss his hockey scholarship goodbye. Meanwhile physics nerd Noah Foster is brilliant and has a long line of people waiting for his help, but has no clue how to talk to guys and is desperately wanting to lose his v card.
The pair strike up a mutually beneficial arrangement—Noah will tutor Sawyer while Sawyer “tutors” him in the art of snagging a guy. The sweet nerdy virgin is absolutely in over his head though! Sawyer is nothing like he expected, and Noah soon finds himself crushing on his dating tutor. Likewise Sawyer realizes he wants to be the one to take his virginity after playing wingman.
These two were absolutely precious. I loved how jealous and possessive Sawyer was over Noah, but he was also really sweet and thoughtful too. Noah is a soft little cinnamon roll beneath all his snark, and I loved him to pieces. Their story is so sweet and low angst and gave me all the feels. ...more

Riley and Cam, childhood best friends who explored their sexuality together and used each other as escape from their families, part on bad terms when Cam breaks Riley’s heart by telling him he’s going to college on the other side of the country.
Fast forward three years, and Riley is captain of his colleges hockey team, and is instructed to show the new guy the ropes. Expecting a hotshot freshman, Riley gets the shock of his life when the newbie is none other than his old flame.
Seeing Cam again slices open old wounds and there’s tons of animosity and bickering between the two, which soon bleeds over to their performance on the ice and could jeopardize their future if they don’t sort their shit out.
Oh my lanta!
I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was so devastatingly angsty and delicious, and I loved every minute of Cam & Riley’s story....more

Desperately in need of some money to cover his tuition and unwilling to ask his parents for more help, Ethan stumbles across an ad in search of an English Lit tutor for none other than the university’s star quarterback, Maddox. If Maddox doesn’t get his GPA up asap he’ll be benched, and despite their differences, Ethan really can’t turn down the easy money.
Working with Maddox isn’t easy though, and things start off incredibly rocky between the two, but spending more time with the QB opens Ethan’s eyes to the struggle and constant emotional pain Maddox suffers through. Being around Ethan helped Maddox with more than just his grades though, and I loved when they finally opened up to each other about everything going on even if it took a while for Maddox to accept help.
Much like Saving West, I could not put Fumbled Hearts down. It instantly sucked me in, and has me rooting for these two from the start. I will say that Mad’s foot fetish/nail polish thing was unexpected though ...more

On academic probation and on the verge of being kicked out of school for the smallest infraction, Shane plans on keeping his head down and focusing on school. All that changes when he stumbles across someone passed out under the bleachers at a party, and realizes it’s none other than West Perkins, the university’s star player.
As weeks pass and he keeps running into the massive jerkwad in compromising positions, and despite his terrible attitude, Shane can’t keep himself from helping the rude football player. The more time spent with West has him realizing that not everything is as it seems, and when it’s finally uncovered that West is sick, Shane’s already half in love with him. Soon things go from bad to worse, and Shane takes matters into his own hands and will do anything he can to keep the man he loves.
Saving West was honestly way more sad than I was expecting it to be, but overall really enjoyable. It’s fast paced and hooked me from the beginning, but I did struggle a bit with Shane & West’s romance/relationship. I didn’t really feel the chemistry or connection between the two of them and there wasn’t really enough depth to their interactions (outside of Shane constantly saving West) for me to believe there could be more than friendly feelings between them. ...more

- football/baseball - one night stand - enemies to lovers - fuckboy falls first - forced proximity - grumpy x sunshine
Phoenix hookups with campus playboy, Holden Sykes, the king of one and done, at a frat party at the end of the semester.
When school restarts Holden acts as if he has no idea who Phoenix is or what happened that night, rubbing Phoenix the wrong even more so when he sees who Holden’s next target is—his best friend, Kason.
Phoenix does everything he can to keep Holden away from Kason, and even though Holden doesn’t understand the animosity coming from Phoenix, he’s down to antagonize him right back.
What starts as a fun prank filled competition between the two, soon turns into more as the attraction and tension between them comes to a head, and lines are crossed.
I’m on the fence.
Outside of not understanding *why* Phoenix just couldn’t tell Kason from the get go about hooking up with Holden & why he was all in his feeling about Kason potentially sleeping with Holden (and then proceeding to be a huge fucking tool & a shit friend), I wish the tension between Nix & Holden had been more drawn out and angsty.
I would have loved Caught Stealing more if it had like slow burn levels of mutual pining, chest aching angst, and OTT drama. I mean sure there’s all the secret/forbidden relationship goodness as they sneak around, the lying and secret keeping from Kason, and it’s inevitable explosion… It just wasn’t enough....more

I’ve been foaming at the mouth for more of Nate and Xavi since I read the beginning of their story in the Anti-Valentine’s Anthology, and Bethany did not disappoint in the slightest with the full length.
The angst, the tension, the heartache… It was everything.
Nate and Xavi have been through it, both hurting/wanting to hurt as they cope with their grief and complicated emotions, and after two years have been thrown together again. Their story is dark, deeply emotional, and oh so devastating, but so fucking good.
I didn’t know Nate’s visceral hatred for Xavi would do it for me, but it really does. The boy is obsessed though and I am obsessed with them. ...more

After a less than conspicuous package shows up for his roomie and best friend Burk, Shaw starts seeing his best friend in another light and offers a proposition that would benefit them both, but soon the lines between being best friends and something more start to blur.
I am an absolute sucker for friends to lovers romances, and Shaw and Burk's story had me grinning, blushing, and full on swooning. They were just so freaking cute! The openness and easy exploration of their sexualities was so beautifully done, and I loved how accepting their friends/teammates were of them as well. ...more

Ophelia is down on her luck after not only losing her job but the apartment she’d been subletting in NYC, and is forced to move back to her hometown and into her brother’s house.
As if that weren’t bad enough, she’s forced to walk alone in the middle of the night to her new home, her suitcase loses a wheel, and she almost gets attacked by a hooded man. Except the green eyed stranger she tackled wasn’t trying to rob her, he was out for a run, and he just so happens to be one of her new roommates.
Hunter Moore is the star pitcher for her brother’s baseball team. He eat, sleeps, and breathes baseball, and only sees her as a distraction. He’s rude and standoffish, but something about Hunter drawers Ophelia in no matter how much he pushes her buttons.
The chemistry between Ophelia and Hunter is off the charts hot, and despite their rocky start, they’re actually pretty cute together. I loved that these two characters with their high walls and stubborn determination were able to bring out softer more vulnerable sides to each other, but oof that third act conflict punched me in the gut.
The Wrong Pitch was seriously so so good! I’m really happy that Ophelia & Hunter both got to live their dreams & get to live happily ever after. So looking forward to the second book in this series!...more

Thick as thieves since they were twelve, Rook is the first person Noah tells about being gay AND that he’s never kissed a guy before. Rook takes it upon himself to be his first, like any good bestie would, but that kiss awakens something neither are prepared for and both agree to pretend it never happened.
Four years later, after a crappy break up with his brother’s best friend, Noah needs a date to his brother’s wedding and Rook jumps at the chance to act as Noah’s fake boyfriend. To save himself a world of hurt, Noah insists on creating a list of rules to make sure the lines between their friendship and his feelings for Rook don’t blur.
Except Rook thinks rules are stupid and meant to be broken, and the more time spent pretending to be Noah’s boyfriend, the more he realizes he’s been in love with Noah all along and now it’s time he showed it.
The Faker Rulebook was such a cute and quick besties to lovers/fake dating romance! Rook was so oblivious to his feelings and Noah was too busy guarding his heart, that this fake dating plan was just the nudge they needed. Their HEA was pretty adorable too ...more
