I love The Loyal Boys series so much and I fall in love with each new couple that gets introduced, but there’s just something about Ryder and Fallon that have completely stolen the show. I loved everything minute of this grumpy sunshine goodness, and their relationship is so sweet despite all the obstacles in their way. ...more

I’ve been foaming at the mouth for more of Nate and Xavi since I read the beginning of their story in the Anti-Valentine’s Anthology, and Bethany did not disappoint in the slightest with the full length.
The angst, the tension, the heartache… It was everything.
Nate and Xavi have been through it, both hurting/wanting to hurt as they cope with their grief and complicated emotions, and after two years have been thrown together again. Their story is dark, deeply emotional, and oh so devastating, but so fucking good.
I didn’t know Nate’s visceral hatred for Xavi would do it for me, but it really does. The boy is obsessed though and I am obsessed with them. ...more

So, the book isn’t bad, per se, it’s just not what I was expecting. First off, it is NOT an enemies to lovers—Xavier used to pick on her when he was 8, that’s it. They reconnect in high school when his best friend dates her best friend AND through their anonymous note passing—which is probably the only thing I really I liked about this book.
Once the big pen pal reveal happens, you kind of expect Vee and Xavier to live happily ever after except jokes on them their letters get posted all over the school and online. Some really poorly done blackmail, cyber bullying and slut shaming ensues—all because of a salty ex girlfriend. How cliche.
AND don’t even get me started when Xavier ***FINALLY*** grows the balls to out himself as one of the pen pals—which he only does after letting the whole school humiliate Vee and his crazy ex gets her scholarship revoked, the shock of him outing his mom for sleeping with a freaking MINOR, his parents make him out to the bad guy and ruined their lives???????
