Quinn is back to visit her small hometown of Strawberry Hollow for the holidays, and plans to drink her way through her week long stay because she 1) hate’s Christmas and 2) hates spending time with her family.
All that changes when she reconnects with Parker, her brother’s best friend and her childhood crush, at a Christmas party where he bets Quinn that he can change her mind about the holiday before she heads back to NYC.
The pair spend the next several days going on very cute Christmas-y dates, and banging it out every chance they get. The pair aren’t subtle by means, and everyone knows what they’re up to, but when confronted about where their relationship is going, Quinn is torn on how she can live her life in NYC as a marketing exec and have Parker too.
Things work out for these two, obviously, and Quinn eventually leaves her big city life behind to be with Parker.
Overall The Mistletoe Bet had some cute moments and gave off spicy Hallmark vibes, but would have been rated higher by me if there had been more fleshing out of the relationship between Quinn and Parker—cause the sexual chemistry was there, but not much else. & if the conflict resolution with her estranged family hadn’t been wrapped up so neatly. It was the whole reason she avoided her hometown in the first place.

When It Ends is an epic apocalyptic romance with a why choose twist that reminded me of both The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 movies, and I could not recommend it enough.
I was hooked from the very first chapter, and loved that this focused more on Amelia, Sonny (Gray), Cole and West’s struggle and determination to be together and survive as the world ends, and not too heavily focused on the romance.
Listen, it was so damn good I honestly didn’t even need the spice when it finally happened

When the deadly mori roja plague strikes the kingdom of Goslind, it’s king and nobles sequester themselves inside the castle & continue to carry on as if the plague does not exist, leaving the rest of the country to suffer without aid.
When the king’s favorite daughter succumbs to the illness, Seraphina, a young Jewish girl is forced to take on her identity to keep the mad king from losing his marbles entirely.
After several years of impersonating Princess Imogen, Seraphina is ready to escape the castle, especially as life inside the castle begins to become a struggle. Food supplies are dwindling, servants are vacating, and the king’s madness worsens.
Enter Nico Mott, immune to the mori roja, and grave digger for a local Lord, who has been sent to break into the castle by his very suspicious patron, Lord Crane. He and two other diggers have been sent to find survivors, but only Nico is concerned about his creepy lord.
They soon realize that certain survivors of the plague are actually vampires, and must drink blood to survive—especially the blood of the untainted Immaculates, those completely untouched by the plague. Now Nico and his friend must warn the Immaculates inside the castle and save Goslind from the vampires.
Honestly, I love a good retelling, and A Multitude of Dreams had a lot of potential, but fell a little flat for me. I expected something dark and gloomy and as macabre as one can get with a YA novel, but this was just bland and didn’t really give me that.
Sure the plot with the plague turning people into vampires was intriguing and interesting, but lost me with the ‘vampires’ being impervious to so many things and yet somehow so easy to kill.
Nico & Seraphina were also a little underwhelming to me, and the romance between them felt forced and contrived, especially that little love triangle they were in with Henry.
Overall though, A Multitude of Dreams held my attention and kept me intrigued, but just was missing something ...more

An overwhelming amount of shit went down in this book, and while it kept me hooked, I was a little disappointed with how things played out. That ACOTAR crossover for one was VERY underwhelming.
Also, it felt like HOFAS wrapped up a bit too neatly, especially since there's supposed to be a fourth book. I don't even know what it would be about, unless it's a spin off for some side characters, because the ending of HOSAF definitely felt very final--at least for Bryce and Hunt....more
