Providing detailed reference after each chapter in the book.
Cons: 1. The narrative was flowing. The conversations were stifled from the over-emphasis of sanskrit-nisth Hindi. The writer should have taken a que from likes of Shri Narendra Kohli for the word flow. 2. The com[ple disjointed narrative. The narrative presented were jumping from one person to the other and the main action is always in the background. It defeats the very purpose of the book and the reader is left feeling empty. It's as if you have missed something. 3. Writer seemed mighty concerned with the food, there were so many mentions of food, sweets and drinks etc. in the story that you might think that it is a book on historical cuisine. 4. Overuse of Dogs, Snakes etc. as a major opposing force against the attacking Greeks. I don't know how effective they were....more

The magic system in this book is a bit absurd. The magic system has tow types formal and informal. Formal system with all the laws is very rigid. The informal system is basically you want something and you are paying blind for the same, it could be anything. The magic system n characters are a bit likeable but the side characters and the villains are caricature of the worst type. The villains are literally cannibals. If no t for some adult references this would have been a good book for the children and teenagers. I just somehow finished the books....more

This is fast paced and a brilliant finish to the series. The pages keep on turning and there is so much happening at once that you literally want the book to have a 200 or so pages more. The author has compensated for the lack of progress in the previous book. The first book is like a steady driving at 60 kmph, second one is literally a bullock cart ride, and this one is a jet flight. I really enjoyed this book, and people should just finish the second and quickly dive into this. Once again the characters fascination with chewing nails is beyond understanding. ...more

This book also suffers from the writers curse of producing substandard 2nd instalment in a trilogy. I don’t know why the author chose to publish this book. May be because of the deadline or what. This book could have been salvaged even if the author had taken a couple of chapters from the 3rd and the final instalment. I was literally skimming off from the middle of the book and just hoping for it to finish. There was literally nothing. It set the mood down for the whole series. It would have been better if this series was a duology....more
Hogan has introduced a fantastic magic system which literally caries this story forward. The Magic system: 4.5/5 Plot: 2.5/5 Characters: 2/5 Overall: 3/5
Hogan has introduced a fantastic magic system which literally caries this story forward. The characters on the other hand are pretty one dimensional and are prone to very simple thoughts. This often leads to reader realising the next/future event even before reading it. And I don’t know why everybody from teenagers to adults are obsessed with chewing their nails. Still this one is a page Turner....more
This book is good if one goes by this two prejudice: 1. Lord Parshuram is great 2. Some miracles could be done by few people.
Whatever author wrote aboutThis book is good if one goes by this two prejudice: 1. Lord Parshuram is great 2. Some miracles could be done by few people.
Whatever author wrote about Parshuram, or the Parshuram of K. M. Munshi, looks good only when you have prejudice 1. the deeds of Parshuram and Arjun in these works are similar in many scence except in the seance of torturing womens. Both are very pragmatic towards finishing wars and enemies. Both are very sure. Compare this with, the protagonist Viswarath (Vishwamitra), of Lopamudra, by the same author. There, Vishwarath is continiously evolving his thinking towards Dharm and Rit, throughout the series. This is not so with Parshuram, he is always sure of his actions, many of them without proper explanation and his presence is enough to bring change in many hearts. I have enjoyed some of the authors work, but this one was not up to my taste....more
