Usually I would categorize anything harem as erotica, but this was much more romance. It took several books before there was much sexy time, and it was always secondary to the plot. Mostly, this was a FUNNY series. I laughed out loud so many times. The heroine Willa was very well written. There are all the normal romance tropes, but they are secondary to her hijinks.
The premise is a world where normal humans are called Dwellers and are the lowest class. They aspire to work for the Sols, who are distant mixed-blood relatives of the Gods. This world is connected to another one where the gods live, and the origin of magic in this setting. The top god ascended from dweller-hood ages ago and then created a dozen companion gods. Then some of the sols ascended after they died. Now all the sols compete and live in hope of ascending, and the dwellers are their servants. Willla and her sister Emmy are from pretty far out in the desert, but they are selected to go serve at the sol's top school. As soon as they arrive, Willa is mis-assigned to work for 5 really annoying brother sols, the most powerful ones. She becomes their comic relief mascot, and then we start to learn more and more about the magic system and Willa starts to have interesting changes and experiences, culminating at the end in a new integrated world order.
This is a novella about Emmy's experiences. She is a monogamist. ...more

This is Xander'So long to the Villains & Virtues world, which I adored and highly recommend to those who like funny fantasy (and paranormal romance.) This is Xander's happily-ever-after and the end of the series. He's trying to find his dad to learn more about that side of his magic (because his demon magic is going wonky), and ends up in a fishing town where there's a half-fae apothecary that he finds intriguing. He also finds two half siblings in this town. He's just as devilishly fun as always, and somehow, ends up growing some feelings and fulfilling a prophesy. ...more

The first is about a lady dragon with a book horde and her knight suitor, the second about a hearth witch and her dragon lord with a rock collection horde. There are a few epilogues too, where there are some steamy scenes and a get together of all the dragons and their mates (happens every 25 years.)...more

I guess that narrator has exactly 2 voices - the growly accented dude and the flamboyantly gay dude. It annoyed me that different characters sounded exactly the same as characters from the first book in this series.
This is a gay romance in space, in a society that modified human soldiers to either be mind readers or mind controllers, and some of their children inherited the skills. This is the story of a very powerful (and socially upper crust) mind reader who is a complete f-up getting "synched" and enlisted against his will to a military mind controller. The controller is a stickler for rules and justice and won't force the synch. There are also lots of political intrigues happening.
There's no romance until the very end of the book, and it's not graphic. Mostly, the book is action scenes. ...more

This is about a seemingly Mostly paranormal mystery, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next in the series when it comes out. This is about a seemingly normal single mom with a dead-end job taking a somewhat dangerous and very well paid related job to better her daughter's life. Something's up with the heroine - after an encounter with a magical lady in a pizza place, she can understand birds and spiders and other creatures. It's weird. But she's focused on training, because if she doesn't learn the ropes, her magical insurance claim investigator job could be fatal. She has a partner who looks like a walking talking catman and is hard on her, but teaching her the ropes. She does nearly die, so it's not as cozy as I first thought, but the overall vibe is comforting....more

I'm glad I gave this series some time. The first book takes a while to turn into fantasy - it starts out looking like YA romance, or enemy-to-lovers. I'm glad I gave this series some time. The first book takes a while to turn into fantasy - it starts out looking like YA romance, or enemy-to-lovers. (Only lovers is not really correct. This author does clean romance - the characters nearly always wait to be married, and there are no descriptions of what goes on behind closed doors.) Further along in the series, it reminds me very much of the wackiness of the Darkly Sweet series by the same author, only mostly underwater. Super entertaining - one of my new favorite authors!
