I started this novel cause it was lauded as the most horrifying of King's work (even by his own admittance). It's not a gory, supernatural horror but I started this novel cause it was lauded as the most horrifying of King's work (even by his own admittance). It's not a gory, supernatural horror but a rather tragic tale. The tragedy IS the source of horror. There were some instances though where I had to stop, not because they were too graphical, but rather too deep and saddening. It's a slow burn, like most of King's work, but that does a good job of attaching you to the characters, only to leave you feeling for their pain later on. Sad and depressing were my feelings after finishing it....more
