Under Different Stars (Kricket, #1)
by
Forget hype , I always love when a book lives up to its cover. I really loved this book, I found the MC to be interesting and relatable. This book does contain a few overdone YA stereotypes (i.e Love Triangles, Insta-Love and “The One” MC) however none of that was an issue for me. I never really have a problem with love triangles, altough I do prefer for even contenders, which was not the case here. Although really if there had been more than one guy who (view spoiler) perhaps the battle for Kricket's heart would have been more even.
I thought that the world building was pretty cool although it was a little odd how some things were exactly the same as Earth ( like courting customs) and yet the technology was completely different. I guess when I picture aliens, I don't think of chaise lounges and eighteenth century etiquette.
Overall though, I did have fun with Kricket on her journey and cant wait to find out what happens next.
Buy, Borrow or Bin Verdict: Buy (unless you hate the above YA cliches)
Note: I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
