My rating: 5 stars
Audiobook narrator Tim Gerard Reynolds rating: 1.5 stars

I really enjoyed this book and it was really hard for me to give it 5 stars due to the narrator. This book [series] could be truly amazing with the right narrator. Again, it’s a situation where the narrator’s voice fits the main character very well but when the listener cannot follow a conversation because the narrator does not make it clear who is saying what, then it makes the book very hard to follow.

This book is full of twists and turns that keep you on your feet and excited to see what will happen next. The author captures the dystopia of the ‘solar system’ very well in this book and it makes me excited to read the third one when it comes out. He does a very good job with character development.

I would not list this book as “young adult” simply because the main character is 21-ish? And the book can get very dark. Some people mention that there is a lot of “history” in this book and it’s better to know the history before-hand. I disagree with this. The history is fun and interesting and I do not think that it is need to know before you read the book. I can’t wait for the Red Rising movie to come out (whenever that is)!
