3 1/2 Stars ( Solid )

Ready Player Two was a solid entry into the world of Cline's 80's wildly successful RP1, that worked for me in many ways and in some it just fell flat. I'll be honest, Ready Player One is on my top 5 favorite books of all times! It was incredible concept story with an 80's throwback flare, that appealed to my senses. As a youth in the 80's I could relate to many of the trivia, games and songs portrayed in the first book. I get it. Cline had to use some 'angle' to incorporate the 'Oasis' back into the narrative, or else the story would depart too much from the original. And in many ways he did that, and successfully. Again Wade, Artemis and H come back along with many other fav characters. Yes there's another 'egg hunt', but this time on a much grander scale. I guess what I enjoyed the most was the 'gang' interacting again.

Not all is perfect in ever-after land, and where things left off in the end of the first book don't necessarily follow suit. The gang is battling against much worse odds, and the enemy is much more nefarious and powerful. The book was entertaining, with lots of action and if you liked the world of the 'Oasis' and wanted a 'do-over', this is the book for you. The end was a little bit of a put down, but still a very fun and worthwhile ride!

ps: Mr Cline, please leave this RP2 as a 'duology'. Another entry into RP1 world would just fuck everything up.
