it was amazing
bookshelves: multiple-pov, favorites

Ever since reading Just Mercy I’ve been focused on learning more about our “justice” system. This fictional book shows how the system affects families, aspirations, lives. I appreciated the first person narration and multiple POVs that really tease our the heart break and disruption that occurs not just for the prisoner but for their family. I found the characters unlikable and quite flawed but very deeply developed and thought provoking. Their emotions were laid out in detail and were often heart wrenching. Their actions were hard to read at times, but I found them understandable. I found this book really compelling.
