Like several of my GR friends, I was reluctant to read this book because I loved the Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. I didn't have to worry. Same time, same place, entirely different perspectives. I loved both books with a slight preference for The Book Woman because the Blue People of Kentucky were new to me and I found that world fascinating. Jojo Moyes is an excellent storyteller, her characters jump to life, her writing is fluid and I was completely engaged in the story. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Julia Whelan, who as usual, was amazing.
