really liked it

3.5? 4? Hard to rate such a fascinating insight into the thoughts and "notes to self" of the emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Some of them are sound observations and philosophical comments. Some of them haven't dated terribly well. Quite a few are remarkably illogical. Some are genuinely ridiculous. Many are in the vein of a mini pep talk not to get angry with someone who's annoying the shit out of you.

Fair enough. I don't think Marcus and I would agree on an awful lot but he's clearly trying to be a decent guy and that's the main thing.

I feel that it started to drag towards the end but not insurmountably.

7.87% "Marcus just stated that everything that happens is just, and then in the next paragraph suggested that we should not judge anything but take it as it is. These statements seem contradictory. You must judge something in order to decide that it is "right/ just".

It's like a series of statements/ opinions for you to decide whether you agree / disagree, or series of discussion points. I like it :)"
