really liked it

bookshelves: crime, detectives, fantasy, magic, noir, urban-fantasy

This was well thought out world building and an intriguing main character. The world of ex magical creatures was vibrant. The descriptions and back story took precedence over the actual mystery, which was a shame, but hopefully in the next one, the action and plot will be more upfront. A darned good read!
