Not a bad read, but was hoping for more scientific and empirical information. Instead the book is based around a set of anecdotes and case studies of several sociopaths: from a psychiatrist who faked her credentials and did a lot of harm to a CEO and to simple sociopaths that are just social parasites, neighbourhood pests or nuisances.

The premise of the book is that around 5% of the populations are sociopaths which have no conscience whatsoever. They do not feel any remorse or have empathy. There are various types of sociopaths which cause different levels of harm.

The book discusses the various theories about sociopaths and also why humans developed a conscience in the first place. There is also an interesting insight that Asian societies for some reason have lower levels of sociopaths however this could be due to the stricter social norms keeping them more in check.

It was a good read albeit quite brief and not in too much depth.
