I started listening to this book on Audible, and the pace was too slow to hook me. I listened to, and read, multiple books before deciding to finish it. (I had gotten to the section in the Night City, with Gaspary working as a Hotel Detective before going to work at the Time Institute.) I didn’t remember all the details, and because I didn’t have a paper book to flip through, I tried to read online summaries from the earlier sections of the book; unfortunately every summary spoiled something different, so few of the upcoming “twists” were actually surprises to me when got to them.

I thought the novel had some beautiful language and descriptions, and many thought-provoking ideas, but, again. I found it rather slow, with not much character development.
