This was a quick and interesting read which is why I gave it 4⭐. However, I do wish there was more characterization, we don't really see the motivations of anyone and the one character we see growth from, we don't really see why. I also wish I knew two of the characters were from another Emily St. John Mandel novel, that may have provided additional context and I may have read that novel first to see if there was more character growth.

It has a good plot though.
