Some folks say it’s a rip off of Cloud Atlas. Others say this is nearly impossible to read if you haven’t read the author’s previous books. As someone who hasn’t read either Cloud Atlas or her prior novels, I found this book fairly enjoyable. The time travel was interesting, the points in history were well-chosen, and the glimpses of the future especially had me intrigued. My biggest complaints were that the characters could have had more depth, and that the final “plot twist” near the end felt a bit forced and/or underdeveloped. It’s also very much an obvious “pandemic book”, but I can’t say how that will stand the test of time.

I’d recommend this to fans of sci-fi and time travel, with the warning there is a lot of pandemic stuff.
