it was amazing
bookshelves: 5-stars, grief, manga-comics, page-turners, trauma-bonding

Not my jaw dropping to the floor when I heard the name Mikey. 😂 Legit expecting Raph over here.

The art:
Absolutely nothing short of gorgeous. This is honestly my favorite kind of style, as it truly pulls you into the scene giving you jarring breaks in the past.

The plot:
Once again… MIKEY?! How incredibly impactful that the “funny one” ended up so depressed and vengeful. I still feel so bad for our little orange but who traded in his mask for black mourning. His ability to talk to the ghosts of his family (whether imagined or real) also further drove in his sense of loneliness.

Of course, you can’t have TMNT without April! I loved the introduction of Casey too, just simple and sweet.

The ending has me crying both out of sorrow and joy. It’s truly one of the more impactful moments in this graphic.

Overall:

Go read it, end of story. I don’t want to cry alone.
