I am discovering (rediscovering) the work of Lisa Tuttle after picking up My Death from NYRB Classics series. This book! I can't believe it had never been recommended to me before. I suggest knowing as little as possible and just letting it unfold and surprise you. Beautifully crafted, a detective specializes in finding missing people, and in the stories of mysterious disappearances, and ends up engaged by a mother searching for her daughter in the modern-day UK...
