Summertime Punchline

Hey friends!
As I write this, two things are true:
1) I have not yet been granted author-ity (ayyyyye, it's a pun) over my author page here on Goodreads.
2) Summertime Punchline is less than 90 days away from release!!!! Omg, can't believe it! Feels like just yesterday I was starting off on this big, weird, wonderful adventure.
I wanted to use this space to provide some content warnings for Summertime Punchline.
While there are many humorous moments and snappy jokes, Summertime Punchline is ultimately a story about overcoming childhood trauma associated with parental loss and parental addiction. Through out Del's story, she details a variety experiences connected to her father's absence from her life due to active addiction. Through Del's eyes, we get to see Eddie's experience with racism. Both Eddie and Del experience their own flavors of classism. Both on and off the page, Del experiences bullying due to her weight, which ultimately informs a lot of her work as a comedian.
If any of the above is too heavy for your heart, please proceed with caution.
I love you. Happy reading.
xx Betty
