i was hooked when i started this. a morally grey man who falls hopelessly in love with a golden retriever girlie? yes please.
except that all fun aspects of this were ruined by the wattpad writing and the random sexual references at inopportune moments. like, sir, why are you thinking about what she looks like when doing the deed when she’s literally having a panic attack? and does a hug need to be sexualized like that? like you are supposed to be comforting her??? ICKY vibes.
also the one time they made out was right after my guy woke up and he thought it was a dream??? the cringe factor of that scene was just too much for me to handle.
there were so many instances like that (esp in the second half of the book). they were supposed to be cute and fun but they were just cringey and totally unnecessary. no thank you.
not to mention that it was pretty much instalove which is not my cup of tea.
now here’s the deal, the cliffhanger this ended on has me intrigued. so i might read the next book. we’ll see.
but idk if i’d recommend this one. very cringey. very wattpaddy.
