Your vagus nerves (there are two, on your left and right) are the longest cranial nerve, running from your brain to the large intestine. Your left and right vagal nerves contain 75% of the nerve fibers in your parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system is what relaxes us after we experience stress, so we can digest our food and heal.
This book is a toolbox filled with physical, mental and emotional exercises to try to activate your vagus nerves so that you can process and undo stress in your body. It uses approachable language so that the exercises can be applied immediately, by anyone, at home or in the office or anywhere.
One easy one to get started: shaking, even rocking, is a powerful tool to bring calm to our body and mind because vibrations stimulate certain parts of the vagus nerve.
I've been sharing this and I hope some of the folks I talk to about this book offer reviews. The author offered it to me at no cost. Thanks to her.
