This is a must-have on any child's bookshelf (or e-reader). The story of an orphaned girl whose young life has been filled with disappointment and unfulfilled dreams shows that, with imagination, you can build the world you want to live in. Anne (with an E) Shirley is one of literature's most timeless and endearing heroines. Marilla and Matthew become the parent figures that we all wish we had. Despite her gruff and stern exterior, Marilla shows that she's full of love and support. And Matthew never once tried to hide his adoration for "his girl." It's a joyful, funny, touching read.

Debbie W. Lovely review, C.J.! I recently visited "Green Gables" on a trip to PEI, and it really brought this book to life. I'm currently listening to the audiobook Anne's House of Dreams.
