it was ok

I really liked Kate Bateman’s other novella where the couple was shipwrecked on a desert island. This one had no character development and was very flat.

It had editing errors. I’m not the best at catching these but multiple times Rhys’ name was Gryff. Yes, it was a mistake even though both characters are in this story. It really took me out of the story.

I’ve read another review which pointed out additional errors with the ‘map’ for the treasure hunt. I could barely follow which couple was where. The premise was playful but the execution was not well-edited or tightened-up.

Leann Agree! I was surprised at how many times Gryff’s name was used instead of Rhys.

K.C. Bateman *DISASTER!* It has come to my attention that many readers who pre-ordered A Scandal In July, or who are currently reading it on Kindle Unlimited have been sent a PRE-PROOFED placeholder MANUSCRIPT by Amazon instead of the final error-free manuscript that I uploaded. I apologize for this, and will be taking it up with Amazon. This is the stuff of nightmares for any author who takes pride in their work, as I do.

PLEASE, if you are a reader who has received the uncorrected manuscript (In which the names Gryff and Rhys are incorrect in several instances, plus some other typos) , I am more than happy to send to an error-free FINAL proofed copy via Bookfunnel to read on your kindle if you send me a DM with your email address.

Leann This would be my nightmare as an author! Thank you for offering the corrected copy. I knew it didn’t seem like your usually polished works!
