it was amazing

A great, fun read, and great beginning to a series.

Twelve-year-old Sophie has been able to read people’s minds since she hit her head when she was five years old. Then one day, she meets Fitz, a boy who can also read minds, and he introduces her to a world she never knew existed. The only problem is, as she learns more about this strange new world, she also unlocks memories she didn’t know she had, dangerous memories that someone (or someones) doesn’t want the world to know exist. The more she remembers, the more dangerous her adversaries become, as the truth of who she really is begins to manifest.

What I liked: pretty much everything! Great characters with a great story line. Each of the characters is well-developed and believable; the plot holds your attention, and you find yourself drawn into the story and wondering the same things Sophie does about herself and her past.
What I didn’t like: not much. It was a little long, but I think that’s because I’m not used to reading middle grade fantasy.
