I grabbed π§πππ¬ ππ₯πππ ππ‘ ππ’ππ after @mamacappsreads posted her review and I'm so glad I did - Mai Sennaar's debut novel is unlike anything I've read before. It's a moving multi-generational story that takes the reader to from Senegal to Paris and New York City to Rio, and explores what it means to be a mother, an artist, and an immigrant in a truly unique way. This the second book I've read from SJP Lit (the new imprint from Sarah Jessica Parker and Zando Books) and they've both been thought-provoking - I can't wait to read more from them and Sennaar.
Thank to Zando Books and SJP Lit for the copy to review.
