A chapbook of five stories that imagines the before, during and after of an alien invasion on American shores. The theme is mostly told slant, so it can be read as applicable to other events of fear and loss, especially the last story, “The Water Breather/Esperanza." My favorite story is “MSAB” with its visually evocative ending of chill and awe in Galveston.
