Another Great of the 40's, 50's and 60's and onwards.

Showed he could make serious and dramatic roles, but also light hearted comedies.

in the 90's and 2000's I was lucky to be a member of Peter Ford's website, his son ran the Glenn Ford website, and here you saw videos/pictures of Glenn at his son's home, in a wheelchair.

Born 1916 -Died 2006 after multiple strokes.

Married 4 times.

Bette Davis helped Glenn Ford getting work after returning from WW2.

Glenn appeared in 5 movies with classic leading actress and great friend, Rita Hayworth: Affair in Trinidad (1952), The Lady in Question (1940), The Loves of Carmen (1948), The Money Trap (1965) and Gilda (1946).

He is credited with being the fastest "gun" in Hollywood westerns, able to draw and fire in 0.4 seconds, he was faster than James Arness (Matt Dillon of Gunsmoke (1955)) and John Wayne.

Retired from acting in 1991, at age 75, following heart and circulatory problems.

Despite his excellence and popularity as a star, he was never nominated for an Oscar.

Romantically linked over the years with Joan Crawford, Brigitte Bardot, Linda Christian, Hope Lange, Debbie Reynolds, Dinah Shore, Laraine Day, and Rita Hayworth.

Very close friend of William Holden, their careers started at the same time.

Took up hang gliding at the age of 64.

My favourites

The Sheepman
Jubal
3;10 To Yuma
A Stolen Life
Gilda
Superman
The Teahouse Of The August Moon
The Blackboard Jungle
The Big Heat

Great actor, great in westerns.

But his son wrote a great biography on his dad and was not a good father, not a good husband.

Recently saw a documentary on his well known affairs, was meant to have slept with over 146 actress's. A Busy life.

Here are some that are known

Barbara Stanwyck
Bette Davis
Gloria Grahame
Stella Stevens
Eva Gabor
Maria Schell
Judy Garland
Geraldine Brooks.

He also had 4 wives !!

I am a fan, loved his films.
