Space Opera Fans discussion

Hi, my name is Réal Laplaine. I'm a sci-fi fan, trekie, space-cadet - all of it and more. I grew up on sci-fi, and more than anything, this genre inspired me. Ok, I am an author, but I'm not here to silently pitch anyone. I wrote and published a sci-fi recently, but I am genuinely interested in what makes sci-fi readers tick. So far, it seems anyhow, that this is a very discerning and intelligent bunch of people - you, that is. Ok, back to me, here's some goop:
Favorite Books: Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Foundation series (Asimov), 1984, A Canticle for Leibowitz... etc.
Favorite Genres: sci-fi, self-help,
Favorite TV shows: Orange is the new Black, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy,
Favorite Movies: Star Trek, Interstellar, Matrix,
Favorite Food: Everything that is bad for you
Day Job: Writer and Speaker
Hobbies: Reading, Movies, biking and motorcycling
Other: I LOVE coffee. Nothing works without it.

Yup. First thing in the morning - feed the cats, and then put on a hot pot of coffee. All else follows.

Whoops! This was supposed to go at the end of the long post so we can all rag-chew! I'll leave it up for a few days so people can say hi, but then I'm gonna move it down so other people don't make the same mistake.

As for the coffee remark at the end of your post. I once had to go without coffee for almost half a day because of some blood work. Man oh man, I know it can be done but I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
