What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors.

Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Cynthia Stacey (cynthia_stacey) | 2 comments OMG I loved this book! I loved the whole series.

Lennie Daluz (lenniedaluz) | 29 comments I just finished this book! It's great. I would gladly discuss it with anyone who's interested. :)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 350 comments Really awesome read and such a consistently entertaining series!

Caye (heycaye) | 9 comments This looks so promising that I'm planning to buy the whole series.

Joanna (joreadsalot) | 2 comments This book is ridiculously good. I have to start the second book soon . Wonderful read, amazing story, and fantastic characters. You won't go wrong reading this book

I didn't think I was a dystopian fan myself but I did enjoy the Hunger Games and Divergent. I don't think you can really compare those with the Legend series though. They are vastly different in a number of ways. I am quickly becoming a fan of dystopia...lol I think you should give this one a try since it is very different and really well written.

Lena | 31 comments I've read The Giver and The Hunger Games series, but otherwise not a ya dystopian fan. I've shied away from the genre since so many of them sound the same. But I'm really enjoying this one. About halfway done and completely gripped.

Maridel (mardsalemios) | 2 comments So in my case.. I'm a dystopian fan and I say this series is the best I've read! :) It's just too good and it has overcome some things where other dystopian authors have failed. It is so different from THG and Divergent. This is so much more. Highly recommended! ;)

Bethan Chalmers | 59 comments I would say that the first book didn't grip me, I mean I liked it but didn't LOVE it you know, but Prodigy, that's the book that won this series over for me, if you doing like the first book power through to the second book, trust me it's worth it, but yeah finished the series now and although I wasn't sure of my feelings at the end of Champion I would definitely say I enjoyed the series, not my favourite dystopian but good.

Rudy Z. (likelyrudy) | 1 comments This book is mostly all about action, mystery and romance. I loved it.

Sophie | 2 comments I liked this book more than the Divergent series. Legend is so good.

Shelby Corey | 4 comments It was really good! The characters were original and it felt different than the other goals of the other dystopian young teen novels I've read.

Amy Rosa | 1 comments I loved this book. I thought it had a lot of great twists and the plot line was great too. I also found this dystopian world very interesting and had its own unique concepts. It didn't feel like a copycat to the Hunger Games which I highly appreciated. I enjoy new takes on the dystopian world genre. Who is everyone's favorite secondary character at this point in the series?

Allegiant sucked.
At least this series had a better ending. (view spoiler)

What things do you think it overcomes that others don't? Just curious...

I really liked this one. I finished it a few days ago and went to the library and got the next 2 books today. Can't wait to get started.

I actually appreciated more the dystopian world genre after reading the series. First, it's very much different to THG (bc most are copycats in some ways). Very refreshing. Then of course, Legend's world is so much believable than others. I think its most likely to happen. Ha. The plot twists are great. The main characters (June esp) are so logical ;) And yes, the conclusion. (Others were disaster and tried to kill many characters we love.) Champion is the best. :)

Amy Lee (AmyTessiaSharidynne-Lee) | 8 comments I loved this series:) This is the only dystopia trilogy series so far that had an amazing last book. Mockingjay and Allegiant were disappointments, unfortunately.

I agree, Allegiant was a major let down. This series is amazing and had such a clever ending, although it did make me a bit sad to be honest.

Pamela (waterspout) | 370 comments I'm almost finished with this and it's such an engaging read! Can't wait to go back to reading it.
