Kandice | 2039 comments I tend to prefer comedy that doesn't have a laugh track. That being said, even when it does, I love British comedy shows. They seem so much better than what America offers in that field. Part of why I love Netflix, Hulu and Amazon. You get access to so much more than on regular cable, even with BBC.

message 12: by W (new)

W | 37 comments I'm used to the laugh tracks, and shows like The Office and Modern Family felt rather odd to me,because there was no laugh track.
Yes,British comedy can be very good, and an excellent example is Yes Minister. However,I never had access to many British shows, while I've seen lots of American ones and liked many of them.

Sara | 31 comments This Country and Mum are my favourite British comedies, not sitcoms though I know. Miranda always makes me laugh.
I Just discovered Seinfeld, not laugh out loud for me but easy watching. It's a show about nothing!

W | 37 comments After Friends,Seinfeld is my second favourite. And yes,it is not laugh out loud funny, while Friends is.And both were on air in the same era.

Sam | 289 comments I know all the words to every Gavin&Stacey episode, I am so annoying to live with. Also, in our household, we are big fans of Only fools and horses and Big Bang Theory. Some other notable mentions are Gimme Gimme Gimme, Absolutely Fabulous, Citizen Khan (which I rediscovered in lockdown and it was a godsend)

message 16: by Corey (new)

Everybody Loves Raymond
Frasier
Cheers

message 17: by Barbara (new)

Barbara There was a series on some years ago called "The Grinder". An actor (Rob Lowe) was on a popular TV series playing a lawyer and when the series ends, he goes back to his home town and thinks he can help run his father's (William Devane) and brother's (Fred Savage) small law firm because he played an actor on TV.
Only lasted a season, but it was hilarious.
