A Good Thriller discussion

There many books that I believe have had so much hype and that have not lived up to my expectations.

Then other books that I thought should have been a lot more successful.

In fact many that I thought would make great films..

Tell me your great books and your not so good books..

One book that stands out to me and lived up to being a great book.

Overrated:
A. J. Finn - The Woman In The Window.
William Landay - Defending Jacob.

I was very let down by The Woman in the Window!

Agree with both the Finn and Landay books.
I have been disappointed in many of the books that seem to be making the rounds of book clubs - The Island of Sea Women, anything by Kristin Hannah, anything written in the present tense, that crawdad book and The Boys in the Boat.

Stands the test of time.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

J.K. Rowling

My third reading of this book. Great fantasy book and stands the test of time.
5 star reading.

The two best books ever written in my opinion are:
1/ Red Storm Risingby Tom Clancy
2/ Billy Strobe by John Martel.
