Debra Warren | 2 comments Robert Preston: Forever The Music Man

The biography of legendary Music Man, Robert Preston, was recently published and featured on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, IndieBound.org, and at selected bookstores. Available formats
include Kindle eBook, as well as hardcover and paperback editions. The book explores the personal life and spectacular career of the enigmatic Hollywood and Broadway star, including his relationships with Dorothy Lamour, Peggy Lee, Glynnis Johns, and Ulla Sallert.

Reader's Favorite Book Reviews declared the biography "is the type of work that will, without doubt, become part of a canonical collection of texts about Hollywood history and the people who drove it. It is the type of book that is so deeply informative that it falls into a category that I would be so boldly confident to say should be preserved for its cultural and historical significance."

Dennis Barker | 2 comments Hi, I'm a running coach and author. I've written 2 historical running novels, the most recent is The First Season, which is about the beginning of high school girls cross country running and the women's running boom leading up to the first U.S. Women's Olympic Trials Marathon. The historical context is the feminist movement of the 1970s. Kara Goucher, 2-time Olympic distance runner wrote, "The First Season is a book that any runner will love. The empowerment and self-awareness Linda gains through running is something we can all relate to. The history woven throughout gives the reader a rich context to her story. Fifty years after Title IX, this book reminds us of what is gained when females are given the chance to choose sport. I really loved this book!"

Don Spurrell | 1 comments Hi All,
My wife has just published her first book 'From the Shadows; Surviving the Depths of Mental Illness', released through Friesen Press on Sept 28, 2022. The book can be found on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other distributors. It will soon be on the shelves in Chapters, Indigo, and Coles brick and mortar stores. The book is about her life with mental illness; from her early childhood - when everything was normal, through the turbulent years - when metal illness took hold of her life and pulled her into the depths of despair, to the lowest point in her life - wishing for death to free her FAMILY from HER misey, and her struggles to get back to a life of normalcy. Her hope is that this book will help individuals, living directly or indirectly with metal illness, know that what they are feeling is REAL, that they are NOT ALONE, that they DO NOT need to suffer in silence, and that she is living proof that there is HOPE. She has received many accolades from those who have read the book stating they now have a better understanding of metal illness. She has also received private messages from those who suffer with, or love someone who suffers with, mental illness telling her they now have RENEWED HOPE! It is definetly worth the read! Thank you.

Lai Tan | 9 comments My debut romance novel:

A Woman Apart

An intriguing story of a young, seemingly unrequited love, an enigmatic strong heroine, and an alpha male celebrity hero who could not let go...

Sade Cole was a girl with a haunted past. Shaped by loss and grief, she was determined to hold the reins of her present and future firmly in no one's hands but hers.
Fate had other plans in the form of the incredibly good-looking young pop star, Mayowa Fernandez, a man whose very existence reminded her of pain, loss, and betrayal.
Horrified by a moment of unexpected weakness and a night filled with passion, Sade fled as far away from him as she could.
Nine years later, their reunion was orchestrated, not by fate this time, but by Mayowa, who needed closure from this part of his past.
He did not anticipate the power of the emotions she would unleash in him nor the secret Sade kept hidden from the world- the result of their one night together.
Older and wiser, Mayowa sought to unravel the enigma of the woman he still loved.

This is a feel-good romance novel with a powerful, happy ending guaranteed to provide a healthy dose of relaxation and escapism.

Janet Smith Hello All,

Anyone fancy a fun read for children? The target group is approx 8-12 years, but it can be read together as a family. It's very suitable for reading aloud. 'Cover Copy: 'Take one wet witch, a frog, a fish and a princess, add a king and queen, throw in a cat, sprinkle with slugs and snails, add a keeper of the kind's creatures, invoke a spell - and stir! A tale for age ranges slightly greater than you'd think.'

Published as a second updated edition at the end of 2021, the first edition was titled 'Krog the Prince Frog'.

Gregory Sharp (gregory_alexander_sharp) | 2 comments Dear fellow Oprah's Book Club members,

In my novel, Il Lupo, I draw extensively on my own experiences with mental health issues and weave them into a suspenseful adventure.

Having lost my brother when I was twenty-two, and my mother when I was twenty-six, I became very well acquainted with loss and grief, and ultimately with anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia. I describe a little of what I experienced through my two main protagonists as a trip to Italy becomes unexpectedly adventurous. The adventure itself takes on a supernatural twist after these two friends encounter a dark stranger and rumours of him being a werewolf start to emerge.

What follows is a gripping race against time as our two guys assemble a team who might be able to help them avoid the curse and ultimately save their souls.

We are taken on a desperate journey from England, to Naples and the Amalfi Coast in Italy, to the Highlands of Scotland, and back again, ultimately walking the ancient cobbled streets of Pompeii.
It's very new, so reviews are few, but so far (at the time of writing this post), they are all five-stars.

Id love to connect with you if you choose to read Il Lupo, and I wish you a wonderful day, whatever the case.

Best wishes,
Greg

Paul Rushworth-Brown | 12 comments bit.ly/3Y9IvhD Although at face value Red Winter Journey is a simple entertaining romp full of break-neck action and laconic wit, some sophisticated use of language has gone into creating its authentically vintage flavour. Rushworth-Brown does not dilly-dally with the usual pleasantries but tells it the way it was like a literary shock jock. Fortunately, the story has a tender side with romance and a loving father searching for his son. His descriptions of the Yorkshire winter are tremendous, and the twisting plot puts the reader on edge.

"A Cup of Tea on the Commode is a beautiful tribute to Genevieve Porro! As a reader, I felt like I got to know her as a person—she is funny, endearing, sensitive, and I laughed many times throughout. I love the narrator’s tone of voice is unique, humorous, definitive, and conversational. It speaks to the readers. Mark doesn’t shy away from expressing all emotions he felt as he took care of his mother, and it is very endearing. There are many touching stories in the manuscript, and many that will resonate with readers on an emotional level." Allison, Boutique Quality Books

The exciting sequel to the sci-fi adventure I Hate Rabbits.

Synopsis: A murder, a missing girl, an assassination, and the business opportunity of a lifetime, a ghost from the past connects them all.

A small-town Sheriff investigates a murder on the banks of the Chariton River. An old friend is dead, and Vic Underwood is out for justice. The old-school lawman must use new-school technology to track down the killer.

Mark O'Brien (marklobrien) | 1 comments Hi friends. New author here.

The morning after a birthday party she threw for me, I woke up in the hospital to learn that my girlfriend was dead, and I might be going to prison for causing the car crash that killed her. My memoir, Crashing, examines the profound consequences of the moment that forever changed my life and cut short the life of the woman I loved.

According to Darin Strauss, National Book Critics Circle Award winner and Guggenheim Fellow, "Mark L. O'Brien has lived through a tragedy and made something beautiful of it. He has gathered the pieces of his shattered life, and from them built this unforgettable book. Not only will this story of transformation move you; it will challenge your most basic assumptions about guilt, grief, mercy, and justice. Not to be missed."

Crashing: I Love You. Forgive Me.

I'd be so honored if you'd consider reading (you can check out a preview with the first 2.5 chapters on Amazon if you click on "Read Sample" while on the Kindle purchase option).

Feel free to reach out to discuss the book or if you're interested in a book club or bulk order of 10 or more paperbacks. I'm at [email protected].

Warmth and Gratitude,

Mark L. O'Brien
