All the Dangerous Things All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The twists, the turns, the slow burn, the writing, everything! I fell in love with this book from the first couple of chapters. I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of reading this story and how it kept me engaged and wanting to turn the next page. By not giving the reader the entire details of her childhood, Willingham allowed us to create our own deceptions of what happened those two tragic nights to the protagonist. It was multi-layered in its production and in the ending; so many factors needed to fall into place from each character introduced but ultimately did not totally confuse the reader.

I also greatly appreciated the author's note at the end which provided background on how she approached the topic of postpartum depression and motherhood with no experience. It was an important part in the novel and it was considerable the detail she took when researching and crafting the story.

Overall, 10/10 would recommend

Kaitlyn - yes! Exactly. That insight at the end and her description of her investigation into postpartum depression - and just the tremendous guilt associated with being a mother when she had no personal experience with it absolutely wowed me. Being a mom myself, I give her lots of credit for that research.

DanielaAthena | 45 comments 4/5 stars!I had just finished another mystery/thriller prior and was pleased that this book furthered my interest into this genre. At moments it was a too slow of a burn but there was enough in the story that kept me going. I will never take a good nights sleep for granted!

My review is here - I rated it a 1 - mostly because of the awful writing and lack of editing. And the story line continued to be muddled. peace, janz

Wendy (lilacwest) | 36 comments I don't really write reviews so here are some of my post reading thoughts. In general I thought it was well written, it kept me turning the pages, I enjoyed her insights about how the true crime lovers were basically feeding off her misery and the rest of my thoughts I'll put under spoilers - I felt part of the ending was really implausible and I've read plenty of implausible plots in books before and usually I don't care, but this one did bother me. I still gave the book 4 stars as it was very readable, for the most part well crafted, and the ending was surprising. (view spoiler)
