Britnee slowly opened the door, forcing a wide smile onto her face in greeting.“Jax! What a surprise! How are you?” She asked, her voice saccharine sweet.
Jax smirked in a way that Britnee was sure meant to cause her to melt into a puddle. She did not melt.
“I had to see you, it’s been forever.”
She sighed and lead him into her home.
“It has been two hours.”
“Two hours without my magnificence to gaze upon! Don’t you miss me, sweet?”
Forcing herself to breathe, Britnee smiled again at Jax.
“Was there something you needed?”
“Well, now that you’ve offered, there are a few things…”
Britnee sighed to herself mentally. Of course there were. This was how it was with Jax. He either showed up for publicity, or to throw his work upon her. With slightly trembling hands, Britnee took out her notebook and began making a list of tasks.
Jax’s POVJax knocked on the door of Britnee’s apartment. He hoped that she would answer, he needed to make sure she was ready for the photoshoot tonight. And Meredith needed confirmation she was going to wear the new pieces.
“Jax! What a surprise! How are you?” asked Britnee, opening the door. Jax gave her what he thought was a debonair smile, but really it was more of a smirk
“I had to see you, it’s been forever.” He said, using what he called his “lady-catching” voice. Britnee sighed in response.
“It has been two hours.”
“Two hours without my magnificence to gaze upon! Don’t you miss me, sweet?”
Britnee smiled, somewhat forced, and Jax congratulated himself. He was not quite so delusional as to think Britnee was in love with him, but he was certain she was not immune to his charms. And he took the sigh to mean that she was melting a bit inside.
“Was there something you needed?” asked Britnee.
Jax grinned widely, ignoring the fact that he wanted to clarify plans with her. He loved being able to pawn off jobs he’d rather not do. And while she did them, he could make sure she was ready for tonight. Having a girlfriend was amazing.
“Well, now that you’ve offered, there are a few things…”
Returning to where she had been sitting on her wonderfully soft couch, Britnee gingerly opened the package, as though it contained a snake.
In the box lay several new garments, and a note from her agent. With a trembling hand, Britnee read the note.

Britnee glowered at the note, then lifted the first item, a long dress, out of the box. It was a shimmering blue, with a high slit, and deep v. If that wasn’t enough, it was mostly sheer, and only a thin lining covered enough to make the dress semi-decent. She blushed even imaging herself in it.
The rest of the clothes were no better, ranging from immodest to practically naked. She knew that as she got older, the clothes would be worse, but really? Was Meredith trying to auction her off to the highest bidder?
Yes, Britnee realized, that is exactly what she was doing. And would keep doing. Until I am too old to be beautiful.
A knock on the door pulled Britnee out of her thoughts. She practically threw the box and its contents across the room before going to open the door again. She swore underneath her breath when she saw who it was.
