~Serena's Maids~

Lisa Choi (SHE'S FOR YOU, AELIN!)
~Age: 15

~Story: She is the youngest of Serena's 3 maids, and is quite bubbly and upbeat. Her parents were killed in a riot for the castes to be reestablished, and she was then taken to the palace where she now resides and works. She aspires to be a K-pop idol and Serena inspires her to pursue her dreams. After the Selection, she goes back home and gathers some of her friends, starting a K-pop group.

Ava Walkiss
~Age: 16

~Story: Ava honestly never feels good enough. She works in together with Serena's maids, but Lisa and Chiara's personalities and actions overshadow her. As Chiara is harsh on strict on the outside, she takes a toll on Ava's mental well-being. She is quiet, yet while not shy, she can act stony at times. She is very self-concious on the inside. Her parents didn't care about her and abused her and gave her trauma. The palace found out and took her in, but nobody really helped her deal with it. After Serena left the palace, she kept in contact with Ava and helped her deal through everything.

Chiara Rossi
~Age: 17

~Story: Chiara is the oldest of Serena's maids, and is quite strict. She can be really harsh but tries to have everyone's best interests at heart. Her parents are both well and alive in the palace, leading to small verbal fights mostly coming from Ava asking about how could she be so unhappy with everything she has.

Serena entered her room as the night came, clearly exhausted with the interview and her emotions. But when she got into her room, the first thing she checked for after changing into a sweatshirt (yes, it was weird, but she liked it) was if the guitar she requested for was there. And it was there.
Ok, that was also weird. But Serena was probably going to break down a lot during the Selection, and she would need to ground herself with something that reminded her of home... or Luis.
Damn it... Serena took a deep breath, and just then she noticed that her maids were there.
The one that looked the oldest walked forward. "It's nice to meet you, Lady Serena. I am Chiara Rossi, and those are Ava and Lisa. We will be here during your stay in the Selection to assist you in any way."
The youngest maid opened her mouth, then closed it firmly, clearly annoyed by something. Serena didn't think much of it, and she said instead, "Thank you ladies, but at the moment I only need one maid in the room."
Chiara opened her mouth to say something, perhaps to say that she would be the one to stay, but Lisa beat her to it, quickly saying, "I'll stay."
Chiara shook her head and sighed. "Come on then, Ava." She then exited the room without another word, followed by the silent red-headed maid.

Lisa bowed and went to some other far part of the huge room to tidy up. Serena sat down in the comfortable chair and picked up the guitar gently. It felt so good to have something familiar of her old life in her hands...
And she then commenced to sing in a low, quiet voice the single that she had written for Luis.

The music enveloped Serena, giving her a piece of mind that she hadn't had in a long time. And suddenly, at the chorus, another voice, smaller yet talented, joined hers.
"Don't tear apart my life- like the others..." The song finished with a final low note. Serena sighed and put the guitar back against the wall.
She noticed it was Lisa who had been singing with her.

"You've got a really good voice." said Serena, trying to give a genuine smile. She hoped she wasn't coming off as rude to her maids.
"Th-thanks." said Lisa in a small voice, but then she realized it was a compliment she relaxed. "I... like singing, but I... also knew you kind of maybe needed it?"

Serena's heart jolted. What did she mean?
Perhaps Lisa noticed a change in Serena's expression, because she quickly said, "No, Miss, I don't mean to offend you. It's just that I'm the only one who really keeps in check with the outer world and singers and stuff. I... know you have a boyfriend."
Damn it, DAMN IT. She didn't want to arrive at this point in the conversation, and they did.
"I think I'll go to bed now." said Serena, giving a tight smile. "I don't need any maids in the room right now."
Lisa left silently, perhaps sensing the newfound tension. It was then that Serena fell into her bed, curling into the covers and crying herself to sleep.
