He begins with some easy questions, just as she had expected. "What's your name?" "Colette Dubois." she answers, a wide smile stretching across her face as her French accent spills from her mouth like honey. She was already having an immense amount of fun, and she had only been asked her name.
"How old are you?" Titus continues. Colette knew she was a bit older than the majority of the girls in the Selection, but that didn't stop her from practically bursting at the seams to answer. But, of course, it was rude to jump the gun and answer before her turn. She rubs her lips together impatiently without fear she would smudge her lip gloss. She had done it thousands of times...she wasn't about to make a mistake on television. Even if she did, she wouldn't mind. She lived for the unexpected. "Twenty." she answers happily when her turn rolls around.
Titus then inquires about what province they were from. Ooh, fun, a little home lore! The girl before her gave a simple answer, allowing an eager Colette to share. "Well, I travel a lot, but I call Hansport my home. Before that, I lived in France." she explains, beaming at Titus and every camera she could find. She probably looked like a giddy idiot, but Colette was having the time of her life. Oh, to have such an endless love for life and adventure...
"What do you like about Prince Felis?" Titus asks the group after briefly checking his notes. Colette hadn't really thought about the prince. It was odd, considering Felis was presumably the whole reason she was here, but she was never one to linger on thoughts of the past or future. She lived entirely in the moment -- although, at times it made her seem like a complete airhead. "I haven't really given it much thought," Colette admits. "He is cute, but I've always been more of a personality person. Guess I'll know when I meet him!"
Once every girl had offered up an answer, Titus asks why they had entered the Selection. Colette was sure plenty of people were expecting a basic answer. "For the prince! For the food! For the dresses!" "For the adventure," Colette tells Titus with a smile. "I jump on any opportunity to meet new people and find someone new to shower with love." she explains. She caught a few confused glances around the room before quickly adding, "And the glamor, I suppose. I've never been the type of girl to decline fancy clothes and good food." She received a chuckle or two before the next girl gave her response.
"What's your favorite color?" Aw, what a cute question! A type of question would make the Selected seem much more personable, and she admired Titus for asking it, even if it was basic. "A lovely question!" Colette chirps. "I'd have to say red...cherry red, to be specific, but I'm not picky." She gives her response and her smile fails to waiver. Who knew something so simple as talking to strangers -- on television, no less -- would bring her such joy.
To conclude the interview, Titus asks, "What's your favorite food?" "Does champagne count?" Colette asks. For the first time during the interview, she looks flustered...still happy, but fluster. A soft chorus of laughter echo in the room as Colette decides on a serious answer. "My sister makes these fantastic strawberry pastries, so I'll say that for now," she responds and waves to the nearest camera. "Hi, Adelaide!"
Once the cameras were off, the girls and Titus rise to exit. The reporter shakes each of their hands and tells them each some sort of praise for completing the interview. She shakes his hand and tells him it was a pleasure to meet him. To her, it was a pleasure to meet anyone new.
