Happyshadowthoughts95 | 12 comments Hi I’m trying to bridge the gap between middle grade and YA I loved Percy Jackson and all the books by Rick. The Harry Potter books and the Artemis fowl and rangers apprentice books. Recently I have read the hunger games, the Skyward series by Branden Sanderson and the Renegades by Marissa Meyer . I would love a No Cussing low violence
No spice book recommendations,
Thank you

There's also the Under the Never Sky trilogy by Veronica Rossi (it has a fade to black scene). Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi

There's Dissonance and Resonance by Erica O'Rourke Dissonance (Dissonance, #1) by Erica O'Rourke

You could try Integrate by Adele Jones. Integrate by Adele Jones

E.K. Frances | 81 comments You could try Divergent, The Maze Runner, The Giver, and The Declaration by Gemma Malley (the second book gets dark so maybe just read the first.)

Divergent and The Maze Runner do have violence. I am not sure how much you are okay with, but I would look into them before reading them!

Good point. I think The Declaration probably has some too. I was using Hunger Games as a baseline :)

Caitlin Maree | 4 comments Hi! Have you tried Keepers of the lost cities (KOTLC) by Shannon Messenger? It’s a good middle ground, kinda similar to Harry Potter.

Happyshadowthoughts95 | 12 comments I read Furthermore by the same author Tahereh Mafi and didn’t really like it.

Happyshadowthoughts95 | 12 comments Gregor the Overlander and the Hunger Games are by Suzanne Collins and are written very differently so maybe I will try the shatter me series

Sara | 102 comments Shadow and Bone books are a really good starting point into YA fantasy.
The Guilded Ones is really good as well, the only thing is it might be a bit gory.
I would read more books by Merissa Meyer, the Lunar Chronicles are especially good.

Hope that helps :)

I liked them, but the second book is quite disturbing in places, although technically YA. The first book was tamer from memory.

Happyshadowthoughts95 | 12 comments Thanks
