I'm not really a football fan. Baseball is pretty much the only sport I watch. And I watch obsessively when my Giants are on. :)

Yeah, they haven't been doing so well this season. There have been a few very exciting games, though. :D

Nice to see so many baseball fans. Yay! :)

We changed our loyalties as well, Lara. Well, my Hubby and I both have a few times actually. I grew up a Pirates fan, when I lived in PA and went to some games, but then I didn't watch for years. My Hubby grew up a Braves fan, since the Rays weren't in FL yet, and the Marlins suck.

We both didn't watch for years and got back into it years ago and started watching the Rays together and went to a few games. But, then we moved to NC and had to pick to watch the Braves, Orioles or Nats. Didn't want Braves cuz of bandwagon, didn't want Os because they are in the Rays division, so we went with Nats and we LOVE them now, even if they are struggling so far this year.

It's sad for Baltimore, but what a neat history making game today. It's so eerie to watch!

Karsyn, they did it last year with the Giants and Padres too. played in San Diego but Giants were the home team. its awesome. Wish they did it more.

Oh, I wasn't talking about that, Beth, that'll be tomorrow with the Rays. Today they are playing in Camden yards with NO crowd. It's the first time in MLB history that a MLB game has been played with no fans. There's a handful (looks to be about 30) people actually watching from outside the games, but there's no one in the stadium apart from the teams and a some media for broadcasting it.

Tomorrow will be weird with that though, definitely going to watch since the Rays are my #2 team. :)

I'm watching it too, Karsyn, and agree, very eerie and hopefully not too discouraging for the teams. Ghost stadium! :) And such a beautiful day in Baltimore today! I actually came to the thread to start a challenge with Orioles in mind, must admit I'm a baseball rookie but happen to love the little bit that I know about the game!

Why is there nobody on stadium?

Ah yes I do remember that now. I just watched a little bit on my phone. it looks so strange! I'm used to seeing a wave of orange at Camden

Tea, there have been rioting in Baltimore the past few days. Someone was killed and they've been torching cars and causing havoc. They had postponed two games, but decided to get today's in but to play in an empty stadium for safety.

Tomorrow they go to Tampa and play there instead of Baltimore like they were supposed to, so they will be considered the home team in Tampa.

It's sooooo spooky and weird looking! The Orioles announcers were saying that the White Sox announcers were complaining that they could hear them, since they are right next to each other in the booths. You can hear each hit, the players calling for the balls, it's so weird!

I love how they are still throwing balls into the seats, as they would if people were there. The announcers said they wouldn't be picked up so they will just be sitting there waiting for the fans for when they come in the next time!

Yeah, I went googling after I asked.
I heard about riots, just didn't know it's that bad.
I thought maybe some kind of penalty or something like that. Over here soccer teams (that's the sport here) quite often play without spectators as punishment for something 'fans' did

Tea where do you live? Soccer (football) is my second favourite sport!
