Elvia (elvb) Haven't been to the library in a while due to the holidays so I had to scrounge through my bookshelf for something interesting. I found Moongazer (a Dollar General purchase). So far so good.

Arch | 869 comments I'm so happy to be rereading Gone Too Far by Suzanne Brockmann. Sam is my baby!

message 6: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 617 comments Mockingjay - I'm nervous because I've heard it is kind of disappointing after the first two books in the series, but I have to know how it ends!

message 7: by Gigi (new)

Gigi (gified) Tread upon the Lion

hannah (hannahburs) | 1 comments The Luxe - I’ve had this sitting on my shelf for months and I finally decided to open it up. It hasn’t been too bad thus far, but I can definitely see how its a historical version of gossip girl.

message 9: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 266 comments I just started reading The Secret Adventures of Charlotte Bronte by Laura Joh Rowland. I've never read anything by this author before, so we'll see how it goes. I'm already on pg. 118... I'm not sure yet what to think of this book, although I do enjoy the bantering between the sisters.

Michelle (In Libris Veritas) (shadowrose) I'm starting The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I've wanted to read it since all the hype started but I'm just now getting around to it. I finished Dreams of the Ringed Vale barely an hour ago and loved it! If there are any fantasy lovers out there then you should try to find a copy of this to read.

message 11: by Storm (new)

Storm (stormgerlock) I'm currently reading Living Dead in Dallas and hope to finish the series in the next couple weeks.

stormhawk | 1184 comments Between Kindle and DTBs (dead tree books) I think I have about six going at the moment. I'm trying to bring my focus down to just one at a time until I clear this backlog, so mostly I'm reading Permutation City by Greg Egan right now.

Michelle (In Libris Veritas) (shadowrose) I finished The Hunger Games and it was pretty much amazing! I'm sorry I finished it so quickly but I just couldn't stop reading.

Now I'm reading House of Dark Shadows, which was a free book on Amazon. So I'm not sure what to expect so far it has creeped me out.

message 19: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrijd) | 209 comments Kitty Foyle --there's more on my currently reading list, but this is the one I'm focused on.

Hannah Finished City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, currently reading City of Ashes; excited to read City of Glass and Clockwork Angel, and then City of Fallen Angels. It's very entertaining, and so far Jace has given me a whole lot of laughs this year.

message 27: by Shelley (new)

Shelley (shelleylynn) | 13 comments Just finished The book of Awesome and gonna start Half Broke Horses... Haven't hear much good about it so I am not overly anxious to get going on it however!

Michelle (In Libris Veritas) (shadowrose) Well I've started The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. So far I'm really interested in it, it's different from most young adult books that follow a female character.

message 29: by Michelle (last edited Jan 09, 2011 11:53PM) (new)

Michelle Myhill (michellemyhill) I just finished "Beneath a Marble Sky" by John Shors and gave it 3 stars. I thought the author did a good job describing life in 17th century India and of the construction of the Taj Mahal, which I found very interesting. It was a good, solid, well written book that held my interest.

Now I'm starting "The False Friend" by Myla Goldberg.

Let us know what you think of Dracula Bj. That is a book I have wanted to read for a while too.. I always wondered how it differs from all the vampire movies, I would prefer more history and less gore...lol. But I have no idea what the novel is like so never read it... Hope you enjoy reading it ;)

message 38: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 266 comments Finished the 2 adventure books about Charlotte Bronte, and figured I'd start reading A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick. Hoping it's as good as everyone's saying it is ;)

message 40: by Jessika (new)

Jessika | 2 comments I'm currently reading a couple books right now. I have The Luxe, I Am Not A Serial Killer, The Dead and the Gone, and Catching Fire. They're all awesome so far!

message 41: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 266 comments I just finished reading A Reliable Wife... and I honestly have to say.... I am NOT a fan. The main plot of the story between the 2 main characters would have been fine by me. But the author's continued ramblings on practically every other page about sex in some shape, sort, or fashion was overkill! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind there being sex in a story... but this was just ridiculous! I almost put the book down after the first 11 pages because of all the repetitive phrasing ("The train was late"... how many times did he REALLY need to say that to get the point across??... not enough, apparently) and the continued comments about Ralph Truitt looking in the mirror. I made myself stick it out & finish, and I am just glad it's over & done with. I think all of the extra/repetitive ramblings of the author is what ruined it for me... Not a fan!

message 42: by Kimber (new)

Kimber Just finished Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead and am now reading The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman. Can't put it down!

Thats one of the first I read on My reader... I really enjoyed it. It was dark and really grabbed my senses. I couldn't get enough of it! I remember wondering why I had never bothered to read it before getting it as a free e-book. Hope you also enjoy it.

The book is so much better! The last 1/3 of the movie is completely different than the book.

message 50: by Steven (new)

Steven Belanger | 43 comments Valerie, I agree with you. I scanned it for a few minutes at a bookstore and was very unimpressed with the writing. Since I was convinced I was never going to read it, I read the ending (I know that's horrible) and I was even more unimpressed with the last few pages!
