The pesky (adorable) toddler has really bitten into my R&R reading time this year, so there's a higher than anticipated number of picture books slotted in at the end there to help me hit my target.

I could've listed 52 reads on just the kid's books - he loves storytime and regularly insists of four or five books an evening! But I try to review everything I list as newly read, and there's only so many kids book reviews I can write!

In terms of my various reading lists, it's been a solid year of progress. I finished the Locus Sci-Fi Winners list in 2012, and the Locus YA Winners list in 2013. I'm on track to finish the post-1980 Hugo Winners list in 2014.

Come mid-2014 the next rugrat is due, and we'll see how much reading time I can squeeze in around two of the little rascals! This time next year we may well be looking at a majority kids books...

I'll be setting my target for 2014 the same - 1 book per week - and I've also got a stack of overdue reviews to write up. :-)
