Since 2009, Swedish retailer Sneakersnstuff and Adidas have worked together on around 50 (!) different sneakers. Now, they're adding another one to the list with the upcoming SNS x Adidas GT II Handball ‘Olive.’
The GT II Handball is basically a re-up of the original Handball silhouette from the ‘80s. Not much has changed, really, but it looks a lot sleeker compared to the OG and the material construction has been totally rebuilt.
SNS’s version works on top of a forest green nylon base and is overlaid by panels and panels of ‘Olive’ suede across the front, back, and lacing system. ‘Cloud White’ Three Stripes hit the lateral and medial sidewalls, and the T-toe design (which has been swiped straight from the Samba) also makes a cameo here.
But while it might borrow elements from the last big sneaker hit, it's worth remembering that this is not a Samba. Far from it, in fact. So as we reach peak Samba, you can just cop this one instead. Another big difference between this and the Samba is the midsole. While it's made from the same gum rubber material, it's a little grippier and a lot bouncier as it's been created for handball rather than football. This Sneakernstuff collab is also stamped with “SNS GTII” across the sidewalls.
The SNS x Adidas GT II Handball ‘Olive’ is set to drop within the coming weeks at Sneakernstuff, Adidas, the Confirmed app, and select shops globally. A retail price has yet to be confirmed, but expect it to be around the £110 mark.
