Succession's stealthwealth showdown continues on the Emmys red carpet

Succession is over. It's now painfully official after last night's Emmy awards, the cast and crew's final victory lap, where the show picked up six awards including all of the dramatic acting prizes (Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook and Matthew MacFadyen were the recipients).

But, in true Roy family style, the cast saw their last opportunity to flex their watch games on the red carpet and took it. Everyone from new CEO Tom (MacFadyen) to dead patriarch Logan (Brian Cox) brought A-game, rocking some of the best timepieces we've seen in awards season so far.

Matthew Macfadyen in Patek Philippe

Everyone’s favourite social climber and sleazebag, Tom Wambsgans, came out on top last night at the Emmys, winning the gold for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. While all bets were against Wambsgans becoming the CEO of Waystar Royco, Macfadyen certainly leaned into the stereotype as the new head of the family, ditching his on-screen Cartier and Panerais for a Patek Phillipe Aquanaut in White Gold.

Brian Cox in Jacob & Co.

Realistically, the patriarch of Manhattan’s royal family was always going to upstage all of his co-stars. And in the interest of reminding everyone exactly who is boss (even from the gates of hell), it had to be something as mad as this Jacob & Co. Donning the Epic SF24, composed of a mammoth 473 components and access to 24 customisable time zones at the push of a button, Cox continued the legacy of Logan Roy. If you don’t vibe with it, chances are the kingpin will tell you to f*ck off.

Kieran Culkin in IWC

For a character who literally gets off on power (eternally scarred from that scene), it’s fitting that Culkin opted for the IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Automatic 40, a stealthy 40mm model with 60 hours of power reserve. In Roy terms, that’s more than enough time to take down your entire family dynasty three times over.

Alexander Skarsgård in Cartier

Trust Alexander Skarsgård and his character, Matsson, to come out of nowhere and put an attractive offer on the table, here in the form of the Cartier Tank. We respect that the actor didn’t just go for the archetypal Tank, rather, the Tank Louis Cartier with a contrasting patterned grey dial and rose gold case.

Nicholas Braun in Vacheron Constantin

While most actors in Succession wanted to leave their machiavellian counterparts on set, according to The Times, Nicholas Braun’s watch knowledge actually blossomed as a result of the show. Here, Braun opted for a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph, With a reverse panda dial (extra kudos) and black rubber strap.
