When you think of Theo James, you probably first think of very watchable turns in The Gentleman and The White Lotus. Then you might go to some mega suits from Giorgio Armani, and massive coats from Dolce & Gabbana. But despite all that tailored good stuff, James is a sneakerhead – and a niche one at that.

At the 2024 NBA Playoffs between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks yesterday, he was spotted courtside looking casual. But even though his whole get-up was very clean, it had absolutely all of the right details. The sunglasses? Ahlem. The T-shirt? Kitty Cooper. The jacket? Frame. The trousers? Nanushka. The beer? A bit too warm, probably. And despite all of that, it was still the sneakers that got people talking.

While most dudes are wearing the Adidas Samba or the New Balance 990 or maybe even the Nike Cortez, James' trainer brand of choice is different. Made by Finnish sportswear company Karhu, the Fusion 2.0 ‘Summer Pack’ was first introduced last August, and while it isn't as hyped as the major bestsellers, it's been quietly amassing a cult following in the background.

The Fusion 2.0 silhouette has been around since ‘96, but for this rendition, it’s been given its most premium makeover yet. We're talking a ballistic mesh base, pigskin suede, and chunky rope laces that look like they've been taken straight off of a hiking boot. It also sits on top of a chunky rubber midsole for extra comfy points.

The British actor is leading the niche wave, too. Back in February, he was seen arriving at the Jimmy Kimmel Live! set rocking the Legacy 96 ‘Rainy Day.’ But while that pair is pretty much sold out everywhere, the Fusion 2.0 ‘Summer Pack’ is available right now. In a world of Sambas and NBs, be a bit more Theo James.
