OK, so Tom Hardy is into some real niche sneakers

On the set of Venom, the actor outed himself as a serious grail hunter

Tom Hardy has got to be one of the busiest dudes in Hollywood right now. After wrapping up The Bikeriders press trail just a few weeks ago, the London-born actor is already back in front of the cameras. This time, it's for the third and final Venom movie.

But while his mad work ethic isn't really that surprising (Patrick Stewart even shouts it out in his 2023 memoir), what was shocking were the trainers that he was wearing. Because while he could've worn pretty much anything he wanted on set, he specifically chose one of the greatest collabs in modern sneakerverse history.

While filming in New York City, a particularly hench-looking Hardy wore a tee with elasticated sleeves, making it the perfect piece for big beefy biceps. On his left wrist, he strapped on a Bremont Supermarine Chronograph, and then he jumped into some classic Levi's jeans – and, most importantly, the legendary Off-White x Air Jordan 5 ‘Black.’

First launched back in 2020, this Air Jordan 5 is regarded by many sneakerheads to be one of Virgil Abloh's greatest Air Jordans ever. Released as part of the ‘Ghosting’ series, it replaced the silhouette's usual leather build with a translucent TPE construction that fell in-line with the streetwear label's deconstructed vibe. Across the lateral and medial sidewalls, you'll find a series of circles that could actually be cut out, and the Nike Air midsole down below has been deliberately pre-yellowed to give it an archival aesthetic. The ‘Black’ usually comes with all-white laces, but Hardy switched his pair up with some spicy pink ones instead.

The fact that he owns this mega collab is impressive. This is a guy that knows his sneakers. But when you look at previous pics of Hardy, he's got form with grails. Just last week, he touched down at JFK rocking the elusive Nike Air Huarache ‘Triple Black,’ and he's also got one helluva New Balance rotation, including the 327 and the 574.

Tom Hardy might have a Hollywood schedule – but nothing comes in the way of some good solid sneaker sourcing.
