Known for his ageless visage- he's 46, but you wouldn't know it- Pharrell Williams continued to defy time itself as he attended last night's European premiere of The Lion King.

Stepping out alongside co-star Beyoncé and recently declared billionaire Jay-Z, Williams graced Leicester Square with his unique sense of style. And it seems as though he had been taking tips from Prince George on what to wear (which is never a bad idea).

Among a sea of conventional black tie, the Happy crooner sported a less than common look - a short suit. Williams wore a concoction that was reminiscent of the kind of thing you'd put a two year old in to attend an evening do, to be met with gushes from their great auntie Mabel.

But here's the twist: it worked. Williams' Chanel look (which he paired with $1,000,000 worth of Richard Mille wrist gear) consisted of a double button suit blazer worn with a dress shirt and bow tie, and looked as though it had come straight out of child star Scotty Beckett's wardrobe (who, wore the short suit best). In actual fact, the short suit, while perhaps not the most conventional thing to wear to the office, is a move we're here for. It's time we give those legs a breather, especially during the summer months.

We're not the only ones. Thom Browne is perhaps the biggest advocate of the short suit, and season after season he proposes it become a #menswear mainstay. Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen is all for shorts with suiting too, putting models in waistcoats, billowing shirts and knee-skimming shorts for her Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Meanwhile John Galliano just made the short suit the centrepiece of his couture Autumn/Winter 2019 collection for Maison Margiela.

Essentially, dressing like Prince George-cum-Enid Blyton character is working for Williams. Want to get involved? Below are the best tailored shorts you can pair with a blazer, to steal his look...
