The 2024 Olympics Games has seen her add to her stacked medal collection, but Simone Biles already has some impressive jewellery hanging from her neck.

The 27-year-old, who has won two gold medals for her performances in Paris so far, proved she really has earned the title of GOAT (that’s ‘greatest of all time’, for those not familiar) through some custom-made jewellery.

Biles was spotted sporting a custom goat pendant, which had been personally designed for the athlete by the Californian fine jewellery maker Janet Heller. The 3D white-gold animal had been crafted by hand with meticulous precision, and adorned with 546 diamonds. A small gold necklace, with five Olympic rings, was also commissioned for Biles.

Taking to Instagram, Heller explained the process behind making the necklaces in a short video.

“[The GOAT necklace] reflects her dedication, perseverance, and the spirit that has inspired generations,” the caption reads. “Simone also wears the Olympic rings necklace, another bespoke creation celebrating her journey through multiple Olympic Games. These necklaces serve as representations of her strength and inspiration, encapsulating the essence of her extraordinary career.

“Each piece is a testament to the enduring legacy of a true champion. As the Paris 2024 Olympics unfold, all eyes are on Simone Biles – the GOAT both on and off the mat.”

The goat symbol is one that has deep resonance for Biles. Speaking about her necklace shortly after picking up her gold for the woman’s artistic all-round gymnastic event, she told onlookers: “It’s a little ode… a lot of people love it. They always call me the GOAT so I thought it would be really special if I got one made.

“The haters hate it, but I like that even more. It’s just a special part of me that I have here. In the athletes village I have a stuffed goat. Just to get a reminder, like 'You can go out there, you can do it. You’ve done it before. So let’s go.'”

Biles now boasts six Olympic gold medals to her name, as well as one silver medal and two bronze.

She may very well be adding further to her collection, as she is still set to compete in individual events for floor, vault and balance beam in Paris.
