Pass-catching weapons under the microscope | Daily Brew

We're into the final week of work for the Texans before their long break begins.

A 3-day mandatory minicamp is schedule to begin tomorrow, and once Thursday ends, the players will be scarce around NRG Stadium and the practice facilities until mid-July.

Late last week, a group of former Houston Texans players--many of them teammates of Head Coach DeMeco Ryans when he played here from 2006 through 2011--attended an Organized Team Activity (OTA) and mingled with the current crop of players.

Andre Johnson, who'll get inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in early August, was among the former players who were there.

This morning there are multiple reports of Justin Jefferson signing a new contract with the Vikings. The record-setting wide receiver gets his new deal the week after the Texans' Nico Collins signed his, and here's a friendly reminder of a few of the heroics of Collins and quarterback C.J. Stroud from last season.

Collins, Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs will spearhead what should be a highly-productive wide receiver room for Houston in 2024. Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2 wrote this about Diggs and how he's been practicing in OTAs with new teammates.

More quietly, the Texans tight end room is one to monitor as well. Dalton Schultz is back, as are Brevin Jordan and Teagan Quitoriano, and the team also drafted Cade Stover. Their position coach, Jake Moreland, hooked up with the Texans Radio Crew and discussed what's to come.
