Where's my can of Yeah? Ilike the thank you? What E was

(00:23):
going to see you? You knowwhat I'm saying? Like you to show
up on your best in my Sunday'sbest of course on a Thursday. Yeah,
of course. So you got thisnew show that you want called Mind
Your Business. Uh, I'm sureyou. They're excited about it. Oh
my god, so over the moon. Like you know, when you do
a project you don't know how it'sgoing to turn out. You kind of
just walk away and just keep doingthe work. So to see it come

(00:46):
together so beautifully and then to getthe response like people are really loving the
show. Yeah, that's what's up. So for those who don't know that
are listening, Mind Your Business isnot just another comedy series that's a half
hour bounced original series Executive producer byBentley Kyle Evans with a stellar casts including
Columbus Short, Drew Sidoor, bbWins. The show is set to premiere

(01:07):
and already premiered on June first, and it's promising a unique blend of laughter
and drum yeah to laugh right, all of that. And I think people
need to laugh, you know whatI mean, Like, especially right now,
so much going on in the world. Life is lifing. We need
somewhere in a safe space to seeourselves in this type of atmosphere and environment
and laughing, having a great time. And that's what this show pretty much

(01:29):
culminates. Like you're gonna get yourlaughter, You're gonna get some tears,
You're gonna get some depth. Youknow, you're gonna get some real moments
because we are a family and youhaven't seen a sitcom like this like since
the nineties. I'll just go aheadand say it, because when you watch
it, it is very nostalgic andreminds you and put you in the space
of like Martin Fresh, Prince ofbel Air, the cos We show where
we used to sit around the TVas a family and just laugh and have

(01:53):
a good time. So I'm excitedto be a part of it. I'm
very grateful and we just have anall star, amazing cast. And what
you see is it was really reallike that on set, like we really
love each other and we've really formeda great bond. Yeah, that's good.
I'm glad you mentioned that because I'mgonna tell you, like even though
because I'm only twenty three, right, but it's a baby. What you
know about The Cosby Show and Martin, I don't back MANE watched a couple

(02:15):
of episodes, you know, butit's like I kind of miss those shows.
You know, we don't have manyof those anymore like we used to.
So I'm glad that y'all are doingthis because it kind of take us
back to that time where, like, you know, we was having this
good black TV you know, andstuff like that. So I think it's
great. Shout out to our director, the legendary Cayle Billy Evans and so

(02:36):
he was the showrunner for Martin. He was the creator and showrunner for The
Jamie Fox Show, host of others, but that is what he does and
so that's what we're doing. That'sawesome. So tell me what's what's the
day like on set? Take usthrough a typical day a typical war days
are different because of multi multi camsitcoms. Like Monday, you have a
table read, which is where youjust basically go sit at a table.

(02:58):
The whole cast reads the script sothe writers can hear it out loud and
you know, decide that they wantto make changes. You may get some
network notes and they'll rework the script. So when you go on Tuesday and
Wednesday, you're rehearsing, so youmay get a new script Tuesday and come
back and it's another script on Wednesday, and you're just working on your blocking
and kind of creating the atmosphere forthe characters in whatever set we're in.

(03:19):
And then we shoot Thursday and Friday, so that's when you've got the extras
and you've got just a full house. You know, you've got your co
stars, your guest starts, everybody'sthere and we're just creating together wardrobe,
makeup, hair, and it's prettymuch an all day affair and it's just
a lot of fun. I evenlike, what are they called. You've
got your comedians that sit on thesideline and they come and give you punches.

(03:39):
You've got your punch writers, that'swhat they're called. So you'll say
a lot. So Columbus likes toimprovise a lot, so when you're there,
he may just say something that wasn'tin the script and it works.
So a punch writer repeated sign andsay, Okay, when you go back
in, get hit them with thisline, and so it becomes this back
and forth and it keeps you onyour toes, you know. So I
really enjoyed it because you get tobrush up on so many skills and just

(04:01):
really laugh and have a good timeand think, you know, and just
roast on each other like it wasso funny. And Columbus I didn't know,
but he is really funny, likea comedian, So I was really
happy to learn that. And he'sjust been amazing as playing my twin brother.
Yeah. I love that. Yeah, yeah, No, it's good
that y'all have fun and y'all laugh, because it don't seem like work,

(04:23):
y'all, just it doesn't. It'samazing when your play and your work all
stars look to say. You knowthis, when you know you're living in
your passion and you have connected todoing the right thing at the right time.
Yeah, that's what's up. Ilove that. Where' y'all feel at
We film this in Hollywood, Okay, yep, right in La the sunny
shining. So you come in justhappy, and we have lunch outside as
a cast and crew. So wejust really bonded and that is rare night,

(04:46):
that is rare to have. Yeah, I love that. So the
Williams family helping others celebrate life's vegasyevents. Their personal family affairs are in
chaos. Let's talk. So let'stalk about this chaos, right. So
when so when viewers are watching, what are some things they can expect to
see. Well, it is abouta family from Chicago, which is where

(05:06):
I'm from, Reffenshi Town, Soall that embodies culture. You know,
we're very family oriented. We lovehard, we play hard, and so
the show, you're going to seeus living under one roof. My character
Aliyah finds herself going through a divorceand she is trying to pick up the
pieces of her life. Moves inwith her brother, his wife, their
two beautiful children, my niece andnephew. And then we've got Auntie Lucille

(05:30):
played by the beautiful, amazing OrlandaWatts, and my dad VB. Wyer.
So we're all living under one roof, so you can only imagine what
that is like. Right then,we are running the family business and it
is an event space where you canhold birthday parties, a wedd in,
a baby shower, you name it. We can do it in our space.
So therefore comes the calamity. Right, So you got all of this
miscommunication being in business, in businesstogether, laying with my money, you

(05:56):
know, all of that comes up. It's a lot of fun. But
yeah, we definitely have the dramaand all those things that go with working
with your family and how do younavigate that, you know, to get
back to the initial love and thereason why we're doing it, which is
to build family wealth. Yeah.I love this and I feel like a
lot of people can relate to thisbecause a lot of people and families are
in business together. Yeah, sometimeswe can go through some things, you

(06:17):
know, it gets re retally real, you know what I mean. And
then living together you know what thatis like. So it's just very colorful,
very layered, and so you justimagine we can do this for seasons
to come, which I pray wedo. We just got picked up for
a second season, so okay, nice, congrats. Love that that's what's
up? So how many of itis y'all in the house? Oh god,
so what is me? Aliyah? My twin brother, his wife,

(06:40):
my niece and nephew Auntie Lucille, and my daddy he be wanted. That's
seven pay pall. And then youget the in laws that come in town.
That adds to the five. Right. You know, I'm going out
on dates. It's just a lothappening with everyone's individual lives and collectively.
M Yeah, I got that. What it does sound like a fun show.

(07:00):
It is so much for you gottacome out and play with us.
Yeah, I love that. Yeah, that's awesome. So can you tell
me what, like, out ofall the characters, who do you think
is the most relatable on the show? Like, who can people relate to
the most? I mean, Ithink everybody is relatable. Like there's someone
on our show that you're gonna relateto. My best friend Brayley Evans,
phenomenal comedic actress. I mean sheyou can relate to that best friend that

(07:24):
just gives you life and just comesin with this energy. And her and
my brother had this hilarious banter.Reminds you of like Pam and Martin right,
my character. You know, Ithink a lot of women can relate
to being on that side of breakup and divorce and fail relationship, trying
to pick up the pieces of herlife. And you've got the husband and
wife dynamic and being the mother andfather to their kids. And you've got
the daddy, you know, andthe auntie who's giving you that wisdom.

(07:46):
So I feel like if you sitdown with your entire family, from your
grandmama all the way down to yourniece and nephew's, your children, everyone
is gonna find someone to relate with. And I think that's what's so beautiful
about our show. Yeah it's somebodyfor everybody. Yeah, okay, I
love that now I know him businessright, you know, it's a lot
of different personalities and stuff. Sowho is that person that's all about the
money? I think that's everybody weall want that, you know. Like

(08:11):
Aliah, my character loves to shop, you know, she definitely wants to
get on her own, get herown place to live. So she's like,
look, I'm in it to winit so I can get my life
on. And then my brother, you know, he's building for his family
and his kids, so he's gota genuine desire and dedication and passion to
go after and make this a success. And then you've got you know,

(08:31):
Lucille our aunt, who this washer business originally and we're taking it over
as the younger generation. So she'slike, do me proud, this is
my business. I started from theground up, you know. So everyone
has stake in the game, whichis why you're so passionate about everyone's fighting
for the same goal. But inthat you know, sometimes you know,
connections get lost and we lose sight, but we try to get it back

(08:52):
together and bring it back home.Yeah, okay, So basically she's handing
down the business, yes, alland stuff. So is she completely stepping
away or she's still some well, that's the whole thing. She stepped away,
but then she'd be picking her headand we'd be like, wait a
minute. Next, you know, she up there putting the still like what's
up? She trusts, but shedon't trust us, you know. Yeah,
it'd be like that. So howdo y'all as so, how do

(09:13):
y'all kind of navigate that we comeup and figure it out, you know,
whether it's me getting a new creativeidea as the woman and putting that
woman in touch or my brother steppingup as the man. You know,
we all play our parts and rolesat different times, and so you'll see
how we show up each episode differently, and that's what makes us a great
team. Yeah. Yeah, Sotalk about that that love family dynamic that

(09:35):
y'all have that really like keeps y'alltogether. I think that at the end
of the day, like we allshare wisdom in different areas. So if
I'm having a heartbreak, which waslast week's episode, you know, my
brother being married, he was ableto share wisdom and how to get the
relationships, and so I leaned onhim for that. When it comes to
me, you know, as hissister, sometimes I have to let him

(09:56):
know how he needs to deal withhis wife, like that wasn't what you
did, bro, And I thinkwe show up in that moment for each
other to help navigate our challenges individually. So it's it's beautiful to watch and
it's very very real, and Ithink that's what tugs on people's hearts.
And I'm hoping that, you know, we'll be able to inspire other people
dealing with family issues, just likeeverybody does. You know, you can

(10:16):
kind of look at us as aninspiration of a family and what a black
family does represent. Yeah, Ilove that. That's that's so important.
And I like that you say yousaid the word real. We need more
realness on TV. Yeah, thisis important, you know what I'm saying.
We need We need like real stuffthat real people are going through and
how you know, we can lookat you guys as an inspiration to see

(10:39):
how to handle certain situations and howto go about doing things. So which
is why I say, it's greatthat you guys have this out and I
like the fact that it's real.Yes, So we need everybody watch it,
tune in, tell your mom andtell your daddy, tell your neighbor.
We need to represent, you know, for us and get more of
our programming. So we need everybodyto watch Bounce TV, watch maya business
so we can cantinue to do itnice. And where can people watch?

(11:01):
I mean what days of the weekend, what time? Well you can stream
it. I know the episodes doair every Sunday and check your local listing
times. But Sunday is our day. So after church or whatever, you
go eat your soul food or youhave your family dinner. You can gather
around and tune in and if youmiss it, you can stream it as
well on Bounce TV. That's what'sI think Sunday is a good day.
Yeah, because we're not working,we just got out of church. We

(11:22):
at home, we lounge it andif it ain't football season, you know
exactly what it is. You canstream it later, you know, And
that's what's beautiful now with streaming, you can catch it if you miss it.
No, I love you streaming. It is so awesome now. It
is right because we busy, youknow, and sometimes we just miss it
or we don't have the time dealingwith what we're dealing with. But you
can definitely find it, download andwatch it on your phone, your TV,

(11:43):
whatever works. That's what's up.Oh yeah, so definitely gonna be
tuned in to watch and check itout. So tell us how did this
role come about for you? Well, actually, the casting director amazing Phaedra
Parks Okay Adra hairspart but yeah, you know who she is, so you
know what she's done, casted alot of amazing projects. She's known me

(12:07):
since I was little, you know, because I've been doing this for so
long a time. Yes, I'vedone over forty projects at this point on
my IMDb, so she knows me, and she knows my sister who's been
managing my career since I was eightyears old. Shout out to Big Sis
and you know, the project camealong and she reached out to my sister

(12:28):
and I was like, we've gotthis perfect role. We think you will
be perfect for. We read thescript, I was like, oh yeah,
Chicago, come on, you knowI'm from there, representing family.
It's funny and she sings. Itwas just so many connections for me that
I'm like, I know I cankill this role. So we did it.
We did the deal and next thing, you know, make magic happen.

(12:50):
So it was amazing and I'm sograteful that people even still remember me
and think of me for roles. You know, that is a blessing I
do not take for granted, youknow, because it could be out of
site, out of mind, butto remember and be like, you know,
I think she'd be perfect for thatrole. I was so grateful to
Fadra. So shout out to Phaedrafor even you know, knowing that this
character was made for me. Itreally was. That's awesome. Yeah,

(13:11):
I love to hear that, andI like how cause that just goes back
to having connections and knowing people, and people who know you can take you
very far, you know what.Making these connections absolutely, yeah, that's
so important. So as an actress, can you talk about how you how
you have developed your acting skills overthe years, Like what strategies have you
used? Well, got to getit to the great udhah Haagen method,

(13:33):
Okay, never fails us actors. You know, the sensory, You build
out your character and you put yourselfin the environment. What does it smell
like, what does it look like, what does it taste like, what
does it feel like? You know, all of that to create it.
So it's real and we're not acting, we're reacting and we're living in our
truth. So finding those characteristics thatreally connect with me, that are real

(13:54):
just brings it to life and makesit relatable. So I relied on that
method my whole career. Never failedme, ain't gonna fail me now.
And I do. I work withmy sister, you know, Shill were
aligned with me. I have greatacting coaches I've been working with over the
years, and you know, Ijust continue to work on my craft and
just get better and better. Yeah. I like that. And so for
those out there who may want toget into the industry, may want to

(14:16):
get into acting and stuff, Let'ssay they may not necessarily have the budget
for an acting coach and classes andstuff like that, how can they still
get tapped in? I mean, everything is accessible now, you know,
at the click of a button yougoogle it. But I always tell people
because there's a lot of companies outthere that will try to scam you and
say we'll pay us these thousands ofdollars and we'll make you a start.

(14:37):
You've been there, Yeah, wellI ain't let them get me, get
me. I was like, yougot oh my gosh. So many of
my friends they'll call me trying toget their kids in the business, and
they've given all their money, theysavings away, and I'm like, that's
not even how it works. Soit's very basic, guys. All you
have to do is starts with asimple headshot and a good photographer, and

(14:58):
that may take you a while.I have friends that have been trying to
find the perfect headshot for years. That is a dedication within itself to find
the perfect headshot. How you smile, how you look, it's all in
the eyes. The colored shirt youwhere that makes your skin pop. You
know, it really shows buyers thisis how this person will read and this
is who we want to buy intofor these particular characters. So it starts
with a magical headshot, and thenyou develop your resume. So I always

(15:20):
tell people get into real opportunities, find local plays, get into your school
plays if you're young and their schoolplays. Opportunity to take acting classes.
All of that goes on your resume. That'll put you in position to get
a talent agent, which doesn't costno money. By the way, because
talent agents sag franchise license agencies, they legally take a commission ten percent,

(15:41):
So if you're paying somebody upfront, that's all wrong, that's backwards. They're
going to make money off of youwhen you work, and that's what's going
to make them work hard for youbecause they want to get paid. So
headshot, resume and you try toland an agent and bam. Just get
ready and stay in your acting class, stay working on your craft, nurture
that gift, and when you showup your audition, work to land that
job. Nice. Yeah, yeah, I appreciate you giving us the real

(16:03):
deal because there are people actively outhere right now that is getting got by
some of these companies. I knowsome of them right here in the cities,
and it's so much working Atlanta. And that's also on the thing.
Back in the day, like youwould have to go to la you know
for those opportunities. Now you canput yourself on tape. Things are filming
all over the country from Atlanta ondown to North Carolina, South Carolina,
So everyone has equal opportunity. Iwould say at this time, like it's

(16:26):
a great time to get in thebusiness or really take it seriously. People
think it's all fun. It's reallyworked. You know, you have to
have a passion for it at theend of the day. Yeah, that's
what's up. I appreciate you somuch of sharing that. Hopefully, you
know, people got something from thatand we see that the first step is
get that photographer to get that headshop. Yes, okay, first step
guys, cool, Yeah, yeah, I love that. But before we

(16:47):
close it out, you know,I can't let you go. You know,
we got to talk about the householivesa little bit. Okay, Oh
y'all have so y'all have kicked offfilming, right, we have kicked off
filming. Nice, awesome. Ilove it. You know I was as
a fan of the show, Iwas a little I was like ween her.
I was like, ween, heardnothing about who's coming back, who's
doing what when they're gonna start filming? Like what was going through your head

(17:08):
during that big gap? Oh?I was living my best life. No.
I was like, look, thisis my time off, okay,
just to really pursue all these things. I mean, I was able to
film this amazing TV show, dosome amazing movies that are coming out,
be in the studio working on myalbum that's dropping this summer that I'm so

(17:30):
excited about, right, congrest musiccoming, Thank you. I'm very proud
of it. So I was ableto spend time with my kids and do
all of those things before the traumastarts. Right, So I took my
moment. I took my break.I mean, we had a really tough
last season. So I just tookmy moment to deal with this personal life
issues and while they got it together, figured it out. Yeah, okay,

(17:52):
good, that's awesome. So withwhat, like, because I know
you mentioned you were able to takesome time off do some shows and stuff,
how are you able to. Like, have you ever had the difficulty
of trying to do the show andthen also trying to do other projects within
the same time. Sometimes it doesget sticky. Yeah, sometimes the schedule
just doesn't work out, and thatmakes it hard. That's why I try

(18:12):
to take full advantage when on offseason my team is going to work like
they already got stuff lined up fromwhen we wrap, like this is what
you're doing next. But you know, I really take whatever I'm doing.
I put all my focus and energyin that, so when those calls come
through, I'm just a believer inwhat Guy has for me is for me.
So if it doesn't work out,you know it'll be another one.
Yeah, of course. Yeah, you're supposed to bring the cameras today where

(18:33):
the cameras at where you know what? You should have said you was gonna
set me up and throw tomatoes. They probably would have. You should have
said, I got some tea,we're gonna have a scene, we're gonna
have a show down, honey, and they probably would have followed. But
no, I think today was justa light day. So this worked out
perfectly. Yeah, Okay, that'swhat's up. So did you go to
I know I did get the pressrelease about Kenya's hairspot opening. Did you

(18:56):
go? I did attend. Iwas there. I heard it with some
drama. What some drama. Iwas like, wow, like I was
not expecting all that happened, butyou know, here we are. Yeah,
yeah, I know. I hate. I couldn't beat it. I
was. I got the invite, but I was out of town. I
was like, I really wanted tocome. I was like, let me
say, her spy is beautiful. It is gorgeous. I don't think people

(19:18):
heard enough of that. So yeah, shout out to Kenya for opening her
spot. Is absolutely I will begoing to get a good head scalp scratch.
I can't wait. But it's absolutelybeautiful. Very proud of her.
Okay, cool dell. So whatcan you say cause I know y'all got
some new people on the show onthe show this season, and then you
also got Cynthia coming back as afriend and all that good stuff. So
have you met the new girls? What are the new girls? Like?

(19:38):
Yes, I have met the newgirls. Okay, yes, So tell
us a little bit about the newgirls, Like, you know, what's
that, what are they doing? What's their vibe? Like the new girls
are here, okay, okay, and we will see, right, we
all kind of see what they bring. So yeah, I'm ready to see
it. Okay. Yeah, AndI know some people on the season have

(20:00):
left. Anybody that you missed thatyou wish was still there, you know
what? I actually miss LaToya?Yeah, okay, LaToya forever because she
she you know, at the time, we was bumpingheads. But it was
fun, it was funny, youknow. It was just interesting dynamic that

(20:23):
I do miss. And she hasgrown so much, like she just had
a beautiful baby. Our friends play, I mean our children, they are
friends and they play a lot,and I just would love to see where
she is now in her life. This chapter. I think it's beautiful.
But she is funny, She ishilarious, and I enjoyed filming with her.
You know, looking back, Ithink she was a great addition.

(20:44):
So that would be my one personif I could bring somebody back, I
would definitely bring bring LaToya back.Okay. It's a good drama. She
is definitely good TV. Yeah,y'all, y'all was definitely good together.
Y'all was bringing it like I wastuning in everywhere. I gotta see what
Drew LaToya. Oh my god, really wow? Yeah, yeah, y'all
would definitely killing it fun time. That's awesome. Yeah. So what what

(21:07):
you like best? You like acting? You like reality TV? What what's
the best one? For sure?Acting, because that's that's all I've done
my whole life. Like, Ibooked my first project at age eight,
and I've never looked back. Sothat's definitely my passion because it's so much
that goes into it that I love. Reality was definitely something that I wanted
to do to really inspire, youknow, my fans and let them get

(21:32):
a glimpse into my life and tosee that it's not always good to show
the good, the bad, theugly. Let people know. Yeah,
maybe on TV and do movies, but my life is like yours, you
know, I'm met with some ofthe same challenges, so it's a different
reason for doing it. And myhope was to inspire you know, anyone
watching with my story and hopefully theycan relate. So that was the reason
why I did it. But definitely, my first passion is my music and

(21:55):
my acting. Okay, ye,yeah, I love that. So are
you having this music? So yougot this new album? Yes, I
do. I'm so excited about itbecause with everything that I've been dealing with,
you know, the loss of myfather and just navigating my personal relationship,
it has been challenging, and Ihave put all of that energy and
emotion into my music, writing singing. It's been therapy for me. So

(22:18):
again, like, I can't waitfor people to hear the music. I'm
so confident. I'm so ready forit to drop. I know y'all gonna
love it, you know, backback in the day, because I've done
music my whole life, right andI'm like, well, I hope people
like it, you know, butI'm like, no, y'all gonna love
it, you know. And soI just am ready for the world to
hear. Yeah, because you definitelyhad a beautiful voice. I love it.
Thank you, Thank you, Nice, And I've been really excited and
grateful for the people giving the opportunityI open up for Tamar Braxton this past

(22:41):
year and that was amazing. Sojust really getting back into that for me
is a new challenge, you know, but I'm definitely ready for it and
excited. Nice. So we're gonnaget to see some singing on the show.
You go see a little bit yousee a lot. Actually I'm doing
it right now, and so youknow, wherever they catch me is where
they're gonna catch me. But I'mdoing it. Yeah, Okay, that's
what's up. Yeah, this wasfantastic. Definitely appreciate you so much for

(23:06):
coming. And one thing I wantto know is where are Like, what
season are you in right now?Where do you see God leading you in
the future. Well, in thisseason, I feel like I am in
a season of learning, growing andtaking accountability. You know a lot of
things in life that happen that arelike looked at his failures, I have

(23:26):
to EVALUATEINGTI the point in the fingerand blaming everyone. I think it's a
time for me to reflect, whichI've done a lot of self reflection,
so you know what I did playa part in this, or I could
have done this better. You know. So as much as you want to
blame somebody else, as long asI'm looking at myself and growing, I'll
be prepared for the next situation, the next opportunity. So God has me
in a space of really just sittingwith self and just doing the best work

(23:48):
that I can for me so Ican be the best version of who He
created. Me to be. That'snice. Yeah, I like that.
Yeah it's real. Yeah, that'ssome good stuff there. Oh my bad.
One more thing. Can't forget aboutthe kids, right, So we
just had so we just have Mother'sDay a couple of weeks ago. Keep
talking about how amazing and beautiful motherhoodhas been. Motherhood is amazing, you
know, it gives you a newlike purpose in life. So before,

(24:11):
when I was doing my acting anddoing my career, it was like,
Okay, this is what I loveto do. But now I'm doing it
for them. So actually on Mother'sDay, I was working. I was
in Puerto Rico filming a movie onMother's Day, but you know, I
felt bad I couldn't be with them, and I'm like, but I'm actually
doing this for them. So Iwas able to come back and get them
whatever they wanted and all of thosethings. So definitely it's always a purpose
when I'm working. Now, motherhoodhas just brought a new reality and responsibility

(24:34):
to me, Like I gotta getup. I got to get out this
band no matter how I feel, and I got to show up, you
know, because I got my threebeautiful angels that I have to take care
of and my music is another thing. I have to drive it because I
got three kids I got to carefor, you know, So it's not
a game, it's my life andI'm carrying them on my back. So,
yeah, you've been doing a greatjob as a mother. Than hearing

(24:57):
me right now, it was yeah, come to work with mommy day so
and they've been amazing. But it'sgood that you exposing into this so they
can know, you know, likewhat the life is like, because I'm
sure they might want to get intothe industry too. Yeah they have.
Well. Jojo my thirteen year old. He actually was in the TSC biopic.
A lot of people don't know that. Yes, he played my daughter.

(25:18):
So we were on set the directorthey had like a casting issue of
some sort, and the director's like, your son has this big head of
beautiful curly hairs to grow out. He's like, we can throw it in
a ponytail. You know. I'mlike hmm. But he did. He
did the role. He played youknow, t By's akt y'all walk in
his daughter and did a fabulous job. So he did this at a very

(25:38):
young age. My daughter, Itake her to set with me and she's
expressed wanting to do movies and TV. So we'll see. Yeah, I
told my Big City she got newclients coming. She managed, that's well,
okay, that's what's up. Yeah. And it's funny you mentioned them
because I just went to the concertthe other day. They would celebrate thirty
years a crazy sexy cool Yes,they did just have that. Oh my

(25:59):
gosh, they're amazing, legendary.I love it. I love that I
was able to play a part intheir story and journey. You know,
it was definitely my most challenging rolefor sure. Yeah really, oh god,
yeah, how was it? Howso? Oh jeez? I had
just had my son, so hewas like Jojo was too about to turn
two. So first day when Ishow up to try on the wardrobe,
because we were wearing their real costumes, I couldn't fit it. It was

(26:21):
like they was like, okay, well we'll remake you. I said,
no, no, no, Iwant to get in they costume just like
everybody else. I want to getin, just like Kiki and Little Mama.
So I got a trainer and Iwas waking up before set doing a
workout. Trainer came on set withme. In between scenes, she's handing
me a jump rope, I'm doingsuicides, I'm doing in between scenes,
doing workouts throughout the day, strictmeal playing. After I wrap, going

(26:44):
to do another workout, and soI was determined and I was able to
get into their outfits. Every costumewas tea boxes, and I was determined.
So I was so proud of myself, but I was so tired.
That was a challenge also just representingTea Boys and bringing her to life,
getting her mannerisms, you know, really capturing her and making sure I did

(27:06):
her proud. You know, alot of people knew Tea Boys, but
they didn't know t On, SoI had to tap into that and bring
her to life. And it wasnerve wreak because it was like the fans
are like what they gonna do?You know, you gotta please the fans,
gotta please her. She don saidlike, I wouldn't do it like
that. You know, how areyou gonna play somebody they like that,
ain't it? So I really hadto capture And it was crazy because when
my family came to visit me onset, like two months into filming,

(27:27):
they were like, who is she? Through I was really in my zone.
I didn't realize I like became tBOS. They were like, okay,
we'll talk to you when you wrapbecause you are you are t BOS
right now. Like the way Iwas walking and talking, it was working.
I tapped in for show. Butthat's that determination of being a determined
actress. Yes, absolutely, that'sneeded. Y Yeah, definitely appreciate you
